I'm wondering if any of you guys have some clever ideas on how to spice up a date using imagination, and NOT money. Example? OK. So I goes on date #2 with my new girlfriend and it was her birthday recently so it's a tough contrast: Big event, but we're just starting out. So it's not a big birthday event or anything, she just wants to see a movie. So we meet there and I knew beforehand where we would be walking for snacks after. So I give her a reasonable card over coffee, we chat a while and then make our way back to the cars. Halfway I says "Hey, what's that?" It's dark, but I walk over to a planter where I find a garbage bag (I planted) mixed in among the bushes and grab it and start opening it. She's wondering what I'm doing, I reach in and say "Oh my! Would you look at this!" and pull out a nice store bought bouquet of flowers. Well needless to say it went over quite well. So, I can't give away flowers every time we go out, but have you guys ever done anything, or have any ideas you'd like to share? Thanks! Wes
Burn a cd of her favorite songs for her? Give her something that belongs to you that is special to you. Watch the sun set together with a glass of your favorite thing to drink. Take her for a walk around the nature trail.
no u make a cd where the first two songs are ones she likes, the rest are like Vanilla Ice, Mili Vanili, Right said Fred, all those bad 90s songs. She will think its hilarious. At least my girlfriend did.
I was dating this girl for about 2 months. She was smoking hot. I knew her for about 7 years before, so it was different circumstances. She was really into me, but I didn't want her to know I really liked her as well. We weren't being intimate. We were just casually going out to dinner and coffee. Couple of weeks later, at a beach, she held my hand, as I gazed into her eyes and gave her the first kiss. I mean I am sure you guys think I am some prude or don't have game, but I don't kiss till the 5th or 6th date. It was magical. I thought I was in love. It was the best feeling in the world. I mean, to this day that brings a tingle to my spine thinking how special that moment was and how special the girl was. We went on numerous more dates, from Santa Barbara to Carmel to Vegas. It was all in good fun. We always stayed in different beds, and I had incredible respect for her. She was an amazing woman, and our friendship started growing. Then on our 19th date, (2-3 months or so), I decided I need to give her a present. I mean I just wanted to show my appreciation. I didn't want to do flowers/candy/bears as everyone does that. I agonized for weeks and spent every waking moment thinking about it. I wanted to make it a lasting impression and a positive one. After thinking/searching/talking to friends, I had the perfect gift idea. It was the best and most thoughtful gift. I gave it to her after dinner. When we were getting in the car, she gave me directions. I said "Hey I know where you live." But alas, a woman giving directions was something I had to listen to. Seems like the gift had an amazing impact on her. She took me to the Hilton in Hollywood. She paid for the room, and I was in complete awe. I had never been with a woman before. It was the most incredible experience of my life. I asked her to marry me in the morning, and she said yes!!!!! Since then, as I posted in another thread: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18071&highlight=penthouse So you ask what was the gift that I gave to the girl that became my wife? HERE IT IS Try it, you will thank me later. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Remember, if you do outrageous stuff to impress a girl, it becomes harder and harder to trump yourself. She'll also start having high expectations for everytime you go out. My gameplan has always been to give unexpected gifts at unexpected times and do really outrageous stuff *every once in a while.* Think of it as playing a practical joke without the joke part. Prepare and be patient. I also tend to make subtle hints about what I'm going to do that make no sense until the whole puzzle is put together. That way, when I give her the gift or flowers or go on a trip or something, she realizes almost immediately that I dangled it in front of her for a week or a month or whatever. It makes it all more memorable.
Just be a jerk and treat her like dirt. Women suck that up! She'll be your's forever!...............But I do treat Melodie like a queen!
Also, just thought of something I did for my friend who was getting married that cost me virtually no money. You can adapt it for your situation and its a great gift. My buddy is a big John Turturro fan. He loves him in every movie he's in. While he's not his favorite actor, he's definitely up there and worked perfectly for my plan. A few months before my friend's wedding, I wrote a letter to John Turturro saying that my best friend was getting married, and I'd be the coolest best man in the world if he would send an autographed picture. Lo and behold, about a month later, I got a signed 8x10 that said, "To Dan and Nicole, Congratulations on the wedding! John Turturro". I framed it and gave him that at the rehearsal dinner. He loved it (his wife could care less). Point is, maybe you could do something similar with an actor or musician or other celebrity that she likes. It'll be something she'll always remember.
Awesome idea with surprising her with the flowers in the bushes. I would just be careful not to get in the habit of giving girls gifts - sure they will take them and like them, but it's not the way you want things to work forever, and if you stop doing it so much they might take that as a sign that you are done and on to the next gold-digger. I like the sunset idea, if that's your thing - a good sunset on the cliffs always works. Another thing I like to do is just run errands with a girl - you know go to the bank, the mall for some fresh gear, maybe take her to get some stuff done to your car - sound system, exhaust, tint (not oil change). First of all, you're showing that you got some disposable income, but you're not giving it away to any fluzy that can tolerate you for a week. Or I'll invite a girl along to my basketball league so that they can see first hand, that I am, in fact, good at something. It also shows that you are comfortable, and not just constantly trying to find creative things to impress her. Plus then she gets to see you in your natural habitat - dealing with the ups and downs of daily life. Girls like a guy that can handle his business without breaking a sweat, and still show appropriate attention to her needs for drama and romance when they window of opportunity opens. Then again, I'm a single man so take with a grain of salt
Great responses guys, I'm lovin' every one! I like the CD burn, except she likes (oh, I just can't say it) Marilyn Manson, among others. I mean I like heavy metal and all that, but yuck! What a freak! (I'm laughing as I write this) I'm dragging her to a Pipe Organ Performance Sunday, so I guess she'll see MY heavy side....hehe. I would also like to do more running around with her but because we live at opposite ends, and I do mean OPPOSITE ENDS of the city, she always says she'll meet me. Of course some day that will have to end. I miss the 'car chat' time. Oh, and you're not a prude! I don't believe in kissing for the first 3 dates either! Keep 'em coming! I'm printing this thread out! Best! Wes
Thanks Wes for seeing my point of view. Most people never understand. I appreciate the love (heterosexual of course) brotha! Good luck with her

Get her some Knee Pads !!! Great Anniversary present. She will cherish them forever (Like Diamonds) Ok on a serious note don't go too fancy at first. My girlfriend usually doesn't ask for anything but I still treat her like a queen. 2 and a half years and counting and she would rather spend time just the two of us alone than going out somewhere and clubbing. We have broken up once but got back together after we worked our problems out. She would rather go out for a drive in the mountains to enjoy the scenary and go look at waterfalls than for me to take her to the movies or other things.
If you need music suggestions, I can help ya out!!! If she likes Marilyn Manson (that's rare and awesome!!!), she may also like Slipknot, Spineshank, Ill Nino, Primer55 and the likes. All great music in my book!!!
