Recently me and my business partner purchased some skylines, some of you saw the thread about me selling them...i have seven left for sale...well i was VERY skeptic of jap cars before i entered the Skyline world. As most of you know my life is filled with ferraris and lambos....but HOLY ****. Skylines are incredible cars, i had about a hour to have fun in a R33 GTR Vpec, with only a exhuast and a bigger turbo, nothing to crazy, for around a quarter of the price of a ferrari i gotta admit..sadly...i almost had as much fun as driving a ferrari...skylines almost get the same looks from people too... http://www.alloutexotics.com/IMG_0101.jpg http://www.alloutexotics.com/IMG_0113.jpg http://www.alloutexotics.com/IMG_0119.jpg thanks -john
LOL, overstatement of the YEAR! Maybe something like a P4 Mclaren F1 250 GTO Forg GT40 Shelby Daytona Coupe. etc... but a Skyline being the "KING" of all cars? Racing heritage? Any heritage? Something is missing here...
Because HMS said he got blown away in "HIS" 360 by a WRX/xti in a place called Cold Water Canyon. He's selectively responded to some of those questioning his motives. How about those pictures of "Your 360" and a Serial or Vin#'s that I requested on Monday their good buddy? Quote: "I just shared an experience and that's it, nothing more." Yeah, Riiiight ! License and Registration Please? er uh, Pictures and numbers? The WRX/ , EVO..,M.., the list goes on (Animals for 25-45K ) Slightly Moded, heavily moded, beats a Ferrari.. GOOD FOR THEM! It will likely happen again. But, In this case HMS didn't do it!
Actually, I admit Ferraris will get more looks than a Skyline because a lot of people don't know what a skyline is. Pictures of my cars: www.angelfire.com/mech/evo A recent evo meet in January: (I am the 2nd guy from the left in the group pic) www.angelfire.com/mech/axis90702 -Philip
Skylines are great, I can't believe TCRA http://www.touringcarclub.com/ put us in the same class with them, S4 and 996 turbos, OMG!
Okay. I can't take it anymore. EVO8, fill out your f#$%ing profile and remove that gay (no offense meant to actual homosexuals) "look at my cars" and "look at me" BS. Not that it's not okay to post that stuff but we don't want to see in every one of your 36 posts. And by the way, I think one of the things that might be irritating LA might be the "look at my cars" when they're really your parents'.
good one sherpa! i actually looked at his car ...at his insistance...36 times. i'm glad you finally had the sense to ask him to stop posting...i was really getting tired looking at that rat trap. pcb
Agreed, the "look at my cars" is getting on my nerves as well. This thread now has become waaayyy off topic.
i had "resisted" clicking on this thread but the # of posts got me curious. but wow, i read the last 2 pages and could not take anymore. that might have been the most worthless/embarrasing stupidity i have ever read on any car site.
can you believe this post had the legs that it did? it was as if there was an invasion w/ all the new members. crazy!
The STi is a great little car. The acceleration is as quick as a 911 or a SVT Cobra, and almost to the level of a Corvette or M3. Grip and braking are absurd for a car of this price, and the steering is outstanding. I have driven one twice, and loved it each time. I thought that the Evo8 felt a little sharper in the handling department and was a touch more fun to drive hard, but the STi rides better, is quieter, and looks a little better IMO. If I were buying, I'd go with an Evo for the extra handling BUT be warned: these are not cars you would necessarily want to sit in LA freeway traffic with. They are rather loud and ride harsh....several F-Cars even have better rides. If you are looking for a fun little daily driver to buzz around in, try a standard WRX, and if you want a real toy, buy the STi or Evo. Both are a blast to drive. Having said that, the 360 will blow the doors off both of them assuming driver competence is equal. Now I've been in a 360 far more than I have in an STi, and the Modena just plain gets up and goes faster in the straights, and has more balence, more grip, and better steering in the turns. Those races on mountain roads a la the situation of the original poster are often determined by driver skill. For example, I was in a BMW 540i 6-Speed on a backroad once, and a blue Mazda MP3 got on my tail. I couldnt shake the guy despite the 540i's superior speed. Furthermore, that Subie could have been modded. I know several guys with WRXs and STis who have tuned their cars. One guy took a regular WRX wagon and is pumping a dyno-tested 420+ hp. Both WRXs and Evos are very easy to work with, and anyone who knows what they are doing can turn them into obscenely fast cars.
I found the link to this thread on another Forum, and i cant believe how stuck up you guys are. Ferraris are just over sized Fiats come on. EVO, STI will easily out run a Ferrari of a Lambo in Mountain passes, its what the EVO and STI were built for, Rallying! Has any one ever heard of Group B Rallying? Who knows what this car is? Its an AUDI, This 1 car was clocked going so fast around the gravel tracks or Portugal in 1986, it would of taken Poll Position of that same Years F1, and that was from an AUDI going around on a gravel track. Sure Ferraris are a nice car, but that arent the end all of cars, The Merc CLK-GTR, Koenigsegg CC and the Bugatti EB 16/4 Veyron can out accelerate and can do faster Quarter times then any other Stock Ferrari or Lambo, Accept it, you don't have the best cars in the World so put up with it.
btw, the cars you mentioned are all fast to be sure, however, they are not homologated race (except benz) and should be considered one offs compared to ferrari or lambo production cars.
Those damn turbo'd Sentras. Every time I suck one of them through the intake of my single turbo Supra I get a misfire. I'd even race that thing in my 355. As unreliable as it is (headers) I'll bet the Ferrari has a better chance of lasting the whole race than that little gernade does....
If you'd like to get right down to it then, bring up a Ford RS2000 and point out that Ford built a rally car that would trump any Ferrari. Really now, most of the people on this forum have expressed admiration of the Evo and the STI, but neither car is anything like a Ferrari. Hell technically speaking most 20-25 year old high end sports cars will compete quite well agasint the newer EVOs and STIs, and be around the same price range (good conidtion Porsche 930 = 30k, 0-60 in 5. Actualy faster than an Evo or STi) A Ferrari Enzo will do quite nicely against the cars listed. But then so will a Carrera GT, modified 911s, race cars, etc... etc... The "best" car in the world is defined by its purpose, not by its numbers. But in the end, the original post in this thread is rather suspicious and the event probably never occurred, so why even believe that it happened? Its not exactly probable, and the poster lends no creditability to it.
It is good to see some people on here are true lovers of the automobile. Those of you that purchased the F car for a status symbol only and get fussy when someone compaires your car to a Subaru you need some help.
