I just picked up my brake calipers from the powder coating shop. They did make an error on them but I think it was my fault. I only wanted the letters done in black but I do not think I made that clear enough when I dropped them off. They offered to redo them but they would not be ready until the end of the week. After looking at them, I decided to go ahead with them as they are. I think they will work out alright. Most powder coating shops told me that they could not do the letters separately in a different color. This guy said he could do it and I think he did a good job. The letters are black powder coat not paint. I will post some pics after I get them on the car. Thanks

They probably decided that they did not want you to install them incorrectly. ;) They do look nice.

Hey PAP, they charged me $200 total. You have to remember it was like having them done twice because of the lettering. Most shops told me that they could do the yellow and then I could hand paint the letters and then they would add a coat of clear to seal it up but I am glad this shop could do it with powder for both. :)

Looks good but I personally would only want the letters done. Clear coat them anyway. You will see a dramatic difference and makes them easier to clean.

I have gone back and forth about it but I think I will give it a try this way. They are actually more glossy than it looks in the pic. If I don't like it, I guess I will have a winter project again. :D

You shouldnt have to go back and forth. A good looking caliper will tell you right away "install me" If you have any doubts now, you will regret it later. Take them back and have them redone now and you will only have to install them and bleed them once. You will thank yourself when its done.....Patients patients.

Todd- I think the raised letters, lines and arrow look great in black. The rest of us just have to make do with decals because our calipers are slab sided. Too expensive to do all those raised letters now.

    Great color choice, too.

I know that this style will not be for everyone but I think I am liking it more now. It may look totally different on the car (good or bad). I think that I may not have liked it at first mainly because it was not what I was expecting. But after looking at them later, I do like them now. I am not too worried about redoing them later if I change my mind. Wrenching on my 348 is half the fun for me anyway. I was a mechanic for 20 years until I graduated from college so it does not stress me to work on my car. To be honest, it is this type of thing that I had always dreamed about before getting it. Sitting around the garage wrenching on it and tweaking things is my idea of a good time. :D It may not be for everyone. ;)
