Antony hope you enjoy it. I bought my Plasma (sony) about 2 1/2 years ago when the prices were --Up there--Still has a perfect picture--I love mine.
looks like good set up. Good movie to, one of my favorites. I enjoy my 65" DLP, just as good as plasma.
nice!! Plasma is a sweet set up! just wondering though... weren't plasma/lcd flat tv's supposed to minimize the need for a bulky entertainment system. But it seems that it is just too costly to have a plasma/lcd tv on th wall without the cables and other input/output wires showing. Ah well. I'm sure even if you designed a custom home to meet the needs, technology will most likely morph out a different creation, outdating anything you set up. CRT's are UGGGGLY compared to the flat panel tv's but.... picture quality even on the best plasma/lcd can't compare with an above avg CRT.
I disagree, I have a LCD TV in my room with HDTV it looks amazing. I would hang up the plasma but I am rent cause I am here temp. so no need to go through the hassle. I got it for the quality. Antony
Hi, I had my 50" LG 5PX5...something or other for about 6 weeks, really enjoying the sharpness & luminosity of the colors. Then two weekends ago, a vertical black bar, 1" x 12" appeared in the top half of the screen. The dealer picked up the set for service and later told me they are waiting for parts. Are these things repairable like that? KevFla
I have a 42 inch plasma mounted over the fireplace in the master with a Bose Lifestyle system with all the equipment mounted in the closet so you see nothing but the screen . In the den I have a 50 inche plasma mounted in a lift cabinet I bought at http://www.hookerfurniture.com/largeview.cfm?filename=articlephotos/large/metro_view_hideaway_500.jpg along with another Bose Lifestyle system. It really makes for a clean looking set-up.
Im hope it doesnt get a bar on mine. Everyone is telling me I should have got a LCD projection. Antony
OOOOOOOOOO I got a giant plasma! uhhhooooooo but my plasma is even bigger! Yea, but MY plasma has a nifty wall mount that looks super cool! You guys are worse at the one upmanship game than a bunch of freaking Ferrari owners! Terry
Antony, I've got two 50 inch Pioneer Elite plasmas, one two years old the other a little less than a year. I havn't had any burn-in issues with either, just be sensible with it. Don't leave video games just sitting on it and turn it off when you have something like Music Choice on that has big stationary bars. You'll be fine! BTW - when are you coming back east? Regards, Matthew
I recently bought a 42 LCD proj essentially for that very reason. My friends dissuaded me from the plasmas. Im very happy with my new Sony, but you shld be fine with yours as well.
Both of my plasmas are Pioneer Elites and I have had no problem with burn-in even though we pause the TIVO all the time. And, we use it for various home school videos that include math problems and graphs that stay on the screen for several minutes at a time.
