Good for you Eric! I wish i was going too. I really wanted to go to this this year but in the end I decided to sit this one out. I am not familar with Austin TX. and dont know the locale of the track and the hotels I think this year might be a learning curve for the logitics and organizers. I hope everyone that is going this year can share tips and suggestions for next year. I have read Austin is a great city so next year i like to take my 12yr old son with me. Cant take him to Montreal with me, nothing to do for children there.
I'm an employee of COTA, for three 12 hour shifts......I'm your "Track Wayfinder"!!! Or, I'll steal Bernie's car, and take off with Tamara....
Mine came yesterday as well. Long wait and not really looking forward to being a guinea pig for this first race with the inevitably 'couple of bumps in the road', but still excited as hell!
So tickets are still available? Organizers were saying a while back they were sold out. Maybe just ticket scalpers then? Not that I want to go this year, but curious. I'm sure Mexicans bought a chunk of them.
I bought mine in June, no scalper, got them straight from their website. They were just now shipped to me.
Interesting question, here is what they told us: General Admission all sold out (3 days) All the Bleacher Seats sold out (Including two that were added, 3 Days) All RV parking trackside sold out (included a stack of GA with every spot) All the on site Parking Lots sold out (this is the weak spot of the facility, going into Year 1) What IS STILL UP FOR GRABS, are any of the "Tour Packages" (like FCAs ticket, or an international Tour vendor) Any of the 15 year PSL contract seats on the main Start/Finish...that are being resold or scalped. Any of the VIP tents, clubs or Private Suites belonging to an F1 sponsor/provider, and recall in Austin that might include Dell, HP, at&t.....lots of stuffed shirts. So, we should monitor what gets thrown out on FleaBay, and where it is located, the seat, and "exactly how" the seller came into possession of the access. THAT story might get interesting! Track Owners have VIP tents too, Red McCombs, and Brian Epstein.
Spanish speaking customers (including ALL of South America and Europe) are indeed the largest demographic of non English speaking customer.... I speak a VERY little amount....LOL! But I'll try to solve any problems they have...."Cerveza aqui!!" How's that???
How much do you think two general admission race day tickets plus parking that day only in Lot Q would go for? Any ideas at all?
Sorry.....BOBBY Epstein!!! Boy, would THAT be embarressing! Bobby....Bobby......Bobby.. Dallas Hedgie Fund guy, who owned a defunct M.U.D. of a cow pasture, in Elroy, TX. It was going to be "Wandering Creek" and have 100o little tacky starter homes, for poor people. But then the poor people ran out of money..... There's a lot of "running out of money" in this story!!!! Thanks Frenchie, for correcting me!!
That was a revalation, to me. No single day tickets were ever offered, for anything......only a Three Day ride......and they sold that way....(makes sense to me, as the new track will be a learning curve for the drivers, from Day 1) With my training last Friday (and a handy pocket chart) I can tell by the color of your ticket EXACTLY where you need to go! Of course, the VIP are not ticketed at all, it's a hang tag credential. I've seen it on Bernie at Indy.....
I'm jealous and would love to go to this event next year. I've attended Montreal and that was truly breathtaking. I would like to see Texas as well so it would be a nice mix. Enjoy the race and let us know what you thought of the track, facilities, and the overall running of the event.
Reason I was asking is because I have 2 extra race day only (Sun) Gen Admit tickets and an extra parking pass lot Q, row GA0, spot72 for that day as well.
