If you can find one of the canvas folding tops its worth it. You'll have to slow down but in the rain you should anyway.

Have been driving mine in the rain for last 5 days, no leaks handles great and I have wipers

Normally my DOLCE does not get wet but I am on vacation in Calgary and weather sucks bad

I don't drive mine in the rain, not because I think it will rust to death, but I cannot enjoy it with its top on, not being able to speed, and the sound muzzled out

It rains so much here that nearly every drive in the last few months has resulted in the use of the windscreen wipers.

It was spitting some rain when I was there on 21 April this year during a one-day cold snap.

 

I've never had mine out in the rain. What happens to the water when the car is stationary and it falls on the engine bay grates ?

 

I was wondering that myself. I may make a 700-800 mile trip this week and wondered what happened if the car did get exposed to some rain? Driving versus parked any problems other than a torrential flooding of the engine bay?

OMG you guys are kidding right? These cars have no more issues with rain than a Ford Pinto. You can drive it in the rain park it in the rain drive it light rain heavy rain hell even drive through a puddle if you're feeling giddy

I water blast my engine routinely to keep it looking its best. Water is not issue so long as you dry it out. Engine bay temps have a neat side effect of drying things.

I have driven mine in what can only be described as a rain storm, parked it up for 2 hours then got in and drove it, not issues what so ever. I will admit to wondering if if would work again...

The factory fitted then with windscreen wipers, this might point to something?

 

I was once caught in the rain in the F355 spider and the top decided it wouldnt go up.

That was no fun.

Ive been caught in rain with the roof down, got very wet removing the cover and putting the roof up. Funny though, I think I was laughing the whole time...

 

I've never washed my car in 5 years. I just run a damp chamois over it and microfibre cloths. It has heaps of carnauba wax on the paint so rain would not be a worry.

Re the engine bay - I meant if the car was just sitting out in the rain insitu and the stationary engine cold.

 

Really, thats quite amazing. I wash my car nearly every week. But I do an average of 8000kms a year so I guess it gets dirty more than normal. I normally wash it prior to a drive, if it's dirty when I return then it stays that way till its used again, I never wash it and put it away, I don't like the idea of water sitting around for a long time but if driven after a wash the water soon disappears. Does the workshop wash your car after a service?

 

Nah. I've told them not to and not to blacken the tyres which they often do.

I'm not a fussy bugger but I'd rather do it myself.
