    Gents,

I drove my 550 for the first time in 2 weeks today and for some reason it threw the amber check suspension warning light. See attached pic.

Any ideas on what this means or where to start with the troubleshooting process? Thanks to all!

Ferraridriver is right , the suspension alarm can come from many reasons

what i have experienced is :

key in On position ( no drive ) the alarm will come is the car start to move ( no brake apply )
If alarm is present .it won't go away alone you need to cycle the key to Off position .

If the car is sitting for long period of time, the alarm may come, this happen time to time but more you drive your car less "false" alarm you will get

    hope this will help

It's happened on mine a few times over the years and each time I reboot the system - switch the battery off, wait two minutes and switch back on. 100% of times it cleared the warning.

The shock actuators are the primary suspects, I believe. I have 3 of 4 through. The front ones seem to go first, presumably due to the heat.

I never had the suspension light on due to another cause.

Can be read out, in particular which one is faulty.

In my car, turning off the battery master will trigger this warning when it is turned back on. The light disappears as soon as you roll a few feet. Actuators are functional in my vehicle.

Thank you all for creating this thread a long time ago.
It saved me today with my 550.

I got the Suspension Warning Light on my Multi-Function Display.
Not knowing what it meant, I thought maybe the red triangles below the tires meant one of my tires was low on tire pressure.
I topped off the PSI on all four tires and, of course, the warning light was still on.

So, I then got on my laptop and opened up my PDF version of the 1998 550 owners manual to see what that warning meant. It said Suspension Warning, so I did a google search and found this thread.

Because my siren's battery is dead, it is hard for me know which mode the key fob is in.
I tried four times, pushing the lock/unlock button on the key fob each time, and finally got the car started earlier today.
When I read FerrariDriver's post about the Suspension Warning coming on if you try 3 times with the keys and don't start the car, it dawned on me what happened.

I also appreciate Camlet1's post on how to reset the warning light by turning off the battery disconnect knob for 2 minutes. Worked like a charm.

By the way, if you don't know where it is located, the battery disconnect knob is on the side of the passenger side inner fender under the hood. It is a round black knob about an inch and a half in diameter and it rotates to an on/off position. The knob is about 6 inches toward the front of the car ahead of the battery under the hood. The knob is mounted vertically on the side of the engine bay.

Thank you one and all for this thread.

Happens to me too once in awhile. At the next possible stop, I turn the engine off and start it again and the light is off. Recycling the system seems to work, but maybe I am missing something.

I only get the Suspension Warning Light when I'm getting gas at one particular gas station. There's a concrete slab by the pumps approximately 3/8 inch elevated over the tarmac. I'm parked at the pumps with the passenger side wheels on the strip and the driver's side wheels on the tarmac.

When my 550 is on Daytona's 31 degrees of banking, the light never comes on. Go figure! :)
