I had a very nice lunch today with our own Bob Parks.... I've always loved his great knowledge of aircraft, especially Boeing planes. He's a LONG time Boeing guy - he told me the story today of him being present when Alvin "Tex" Johnston in August of 1955 "barrel-rolled" the prototype Boeing 707 (367-80) not once, but twice over a lake in Seattle... Bob was there that day! He's also a very talented painter (www.ParkzArt.com) - and I not only got to see some of his work in his car, he actually had 3 of of his pieces on display in the restaurant we met at (that I chose, not Bob!). It's always nice to meet fellow F-Chatters, but meeting Bob was a special treat. I've so long enjoyed his insight and aviation knowledge in this section. Anyway, thanks for a nice time visiting today Bob. See you on the 24th at the show. Are your ears re-attached yet? Sorry I couldn't be there. Looking forward to the Sept 24th at Festa Italiana. Always a good time there.
It was a very fun time meeting up with your Dad.... he's a walking Boeing history book that's for sure. I really had a good time. Mrs. Jedi and I will be there on the 24th - won't be registering the car, but will be there to see all the rest. See you then! Jedi
Bring an appetite, they have a pretty good food court going on there. (Italian of course) BTW, I signed you up for the grape stomping contest...........................
Ha! I almost was in Seattle this weekend for the hydroplane race, but decided to wait until next year. I know Randy's, and I know that B-29 cutaway! Maybe next year, Bob!
