i just got in now and dont have time to even peruse the 250 posts of this thread, but let me give my take on this. I made a few comments to you guys outside about when they wouldn't let the group in and made out stand otuside in the cold. Right there the place rubbed me the wrong way. Our usual practice is park out front, get walked right in, free bottle (even if they request we buy 2 or 3 more) but bottom line is they treat us like VIP's. This place acted like they were doing us a favor by letting us in the door, then letting us buy 4 bottles. That was my first time there and I was not very impressed with it. If they want us to leave, fine see ya have a nice life. Thats where i would leave that place, let them be too good for us. Now one spot where i disargee with Hubert (and this may have been brought up already) is that if your not drinking (like danny cant drink) i dont think you should be obligated to throw a few hundred dollars towards the tab. I thinking the bottles consumed is directly related to the people drinking them. Yes if you bring 3 girls with you and they all drink from the table...whoever brought them should be responsible for paying. But the people that dont drink shouldn't have to fork up for those that get hammered and run up a huge tab. Thats not fair to them, to ask for $50 or so towards the pot is plenty fair. I agree with the pay to play thing. Now should even hold true if your not drinking and the girls you brought are. We have had it in the past where all we do is count the # of guys and divide the tab, which i never had a problem with, but after awhile of sitting and seeing people walk up and drink out of the bottle who came as a friend of a friend...thats what bothers me to an extent. The crew is the crew and everybody should man up when we go out. IMO Take the tab and divide it by the # of people drinking (male or female) then the random $50 or so from the people hanging out for the night. If 3 people you brought are drinking your responsible for them. Anyway the way we were treated from the get go last night was horse crap. I was one of the guys who didn't chip in (i dont know if I had anything to do with this thread or not) but myself and the girl i came with were just staying for a drink because I had to pick up noahs car in 35 min. Thats why we got our drinks from the bar. As far as getting in on our own, we could have done that easily, the girl i was there with could have gotten us in way before they let us in, but i didn't want to abandon you guys on the sidewalk and rathered wait till everyone got let in. Oh well my $0.02 on the situation from last night. I wanna thank David for setting up whatever he did, we obviously know anything that went wrong was out of your control. I think the whole problem was that someone promised them we would buy 4 bottles and i dont think there was enough people drinking to cover that much liquor.
100% correct. but hubert is saying, the numbers of bottles that we are required to purchase is directly related to the heads count of the group. anyway wats done is done, good thing that the subject came out in the open, and everyone is pretty much on the same page. next time we figure the thing out before we roll. dats it.
IMO we should have some clout going to a club and parking out front, they should not be demanding we do anything. we'll go to other clubs that treat us how we should be treated. Ie: Lupe's hook up's(LQ's), Neils hook up(9 1/2), and Ruby Falls to an extent
bottom line, pay to play. If you are not drinking why come out? Coming out because hanging w/ the EC crew is a good time? Pay to play.
The black Amex is really great when travelling. Very similiar to the Platinum, but many more doors open up. Lots of benefits. As far as Hubie's complaint about if your there pay, he's absolutley right. I'm probably 10 yrs older then some of you guys, and it was the same sh*t when I was single. There was always those guys that I said that they had "long pockets and short arms". Cheap F**ks! I always felt that they could do it only once. After that, they got the message. At this point its still the same sh*t with married couples. Your waiting for the table with a few guys at the bar. Someone has to order. The rest of the cheap F**ks stand back and scream their orders. Usually they don't go near the bar so they don't have to pay. You want to hang, you pay! I think who ever has been doing it to the EC crew got the message from the previous posts. Don't be surprised if your crew gets smaller. The guy(s) whose been the leach, I'm sure he's embarrased.
I gotta interject on this one -- not sure if you're being fully serious with this post or not, but the tone is now heading in the wrong direction and taking a simple concern on Hubi's part way too far. The spirit of this group is not (as far as I know) and should not ever be "you have to pay to hang out with us" every time. That's BS, and if that's how it becomes well then sorry guys much love but that's not how I hang out with my friends. The topic of this discussion is "IF we got out and IF we're required to buy bottles based on headcount, THEN everyone needs to chip in". That's not the case every time. Remember, there have been MANY times we've gone out and had only a 1-bottle minimum with a group of 10+ people. I know this because I've been in charge of ordering before. But we're having a great time, and people who are drinkning want to keep ordering, and the night goes on and on. And that's cool. In cases like that, Rob has a point that it's really not fair to ask the people not drinking to pay. So this is getting blown out of proportion based on one night where we got $cr3wed big time....let's keep the spirit of this group positive, ok? Now let's get back to actually hanging out and not talking about it!!!
Guys-- I love great cars as much of all of you. But remember this----And I imagine for most of you, five years from now you will agree with this: Parking your cars in front of a night club does give the club credibility and does not give you credibility. It does not show that the club has taste (probably the opposite is true) and it does not show that you have taste. It also does not show that you have money (if that is important to you). Any of your cars can be leased for between $700 and $1,500 a month. In some neighborhoods, that barely covers monthly parking. Here is what you need to do: 1. Find a club you like 2. Seek out the (or a key) manager 3. Grease him/her (maybe $300 cash plus a great gift at xmas that is not easy to get) 4. Give that club 70%+ of your business 5. Only show up if you can bring a well dressed, well behaved, attractive crowd with a high mix of women. This way you will not need your "bottle service" bulls--t where they are just robbing you blind. You guys work very hard for your money spend it wisely. Best.
There was always those guys that I said that they had "long pockets and short arms". LOL. We must have had the same friends! We had one guy who was always there when someone else bought the round but then would sneak off when it was his turn! One time cheapo accidentally dropped a wad of cash on the floor. One of my friends picked it up and ordered a round with it! We knew thats the only way we would squeeze a drink out of this guy!
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! Why the hell do you think I always go to that fun bar on Franklin Street? 9 times out of 10 I drink for 6 hours and get a bill for like $10.
what i remember my brother doing when i was 15-19 was he would give the door guy $200 find the manager give him $500 and give your bartender $300 they would have vip section in the hamptons/girls/a underage brother/and drink for very little money. All and all you would spend like 1,200 for the night do this every weekend at the same club but you knock down the giving away price dow $100 dollars each so the door guy remmembers what you gave him so now you give him 100 instead of 200 the manager you still give him 500 the bartender 200 and so one before you know it you will give 50 to the door man 100 to the bartender and 300 to the manager and you will drink for free! I rememmber it very well because my brother still tells those storys and i was there for most of them. bottom line you still payed much less then the 4 bottle rule and you get to know the owner /manager/door guy/bartender and wherever they go say to a new club or open up a new bar or work the door somewhere else you will be first on the list. Wich in return you become the ultimate EC playa. If i had a football in my car at all times i would be doing just the thing i said. Now being a recovering alcoholic for 9 years this brings back many memorys thus this is the reason why i do not go to clubs and bars and such besides i dont have a dozon footballs in my trunk
lemme know where i can lease 360 and 550 for $1500 a month, i will lease 3. one of me, one for my buddy t-money who works too focking hard, and one for the blond that gives me daily BJ. thank you in advance.
Call Doug Ewing at Premiere Financial. http://www.whynotlease.com He's not wrong with his price quote, by the way.
it all depends on the down payment you could probobly get a 550 or 360 99 of course for 1,200 if you put down 40gs but who wants to do that? i put down 20gs for a 01 2,800 miles and pay 1,850
i have spoken with Premier, Putnam, and Lineback before. You can not (ok at least could not then) to lease a used 360 for $1500/mo under "normal" terms(0 cap 3yrs normal mileage allowrance). you will have to pay a big cap deduction or/and 60+mo long term and etc. In that case I can claim that one can lease a Enzo for $500 a month, as long as he drops 150G unfront and lease it for 12 years
As the thread says, gots to pay to play... Bu seriously, there's no such thing as normal mileage on a lease. You just have to ignore that and sell the car before the term is up. Man up on the overage or find an owner that will not care... As for a 3 year term. Unless you've got the cash to burn from a biz deduction POV, it's not worth it. Stretch the term. Who cares? Pchop is the current expert here, though, as he's going through it as we speak...
