Someone please put a link for me. Read the story the guy writes.

    Man oh man.

Anyone wanting a car like this. Strike fast. I would put it in the garage quickly and happily. :)

Neat story, and I don't know that it is or isn't true......but some pics of the experience stated in his ad would certainly add to the credibility of it all and enhance the bids accordingly...........

That, boys and girls, is a story worth reading. Just incredible. Hope it goes to a good home.

I MUST get this car. The 512BB/BBi has the sexiest "ass" of all Ferrari models.

I've always wanted a Rosso corsa (not Boxer paint)/Nero 512BBi. What an amazing example. Now, if I only had a spare $150,000-175,000.

A very enjoyable read. If I were looking for a 512BBi, I would look no further.

So is this the car that represents the 'end' of the hand beaten panels by the Scaglietti works? Scagiletti himself cites the 512 in an interview as the last of the hand beaten panels, though the lower line models had long been machine pressed and shipped in, like the 308.

Mike Cavallo, in the "Standard Catalog of Ferrari" shows that there was a 1985 512 BBi. Likewise, there was a 1985 400, which also had the hand beaten panels. I wonder if those were just extra units that were cleared out.

As such, this particular car is listed as an 83. That leaves some splaining to do, leading one to wonder if the 'journey' of this car/owner, fascinating though it is and probably true for the most part, is an isolated narrative quite apart from the larger picture at the factory.

Yes; the BBi was the last Ferrari whose body panels were hand-beaten.

The story, if true, is beautiful; but I'm appalled by the odometer.

ALL the Boxers lay equal claim to being "the last" model produced in this manner, IMO.

This one having such a well documented build (and luggage!) means it would be a very nice example to own.

    Unless you want carbs.....;)

OK, I am going to show my ignorance, but I thought no cars had factory radios back then?

No, the Pioneer receiver AND Ferrari logo'd matching equalizer were factory equipment on the injected cars, valuable and a PITA to find if needed for restoration.

This car 'is as built".........beautiful example IMO.

    $165K????

Does Geno Burns need another one???

I have to get back to my eBay 308GTB clock, this is outta my league!! LOL!

    Even at 165k, that's like...

    Documentation +$5k
    Luggage +$5k
    Mileage +$20k
Meeting the owner, sharing a glass of Chianti and hearing the story 'live' , priceless.

    Reaching the 'immense value' stage.

He just says it's "one of the last" not THE last.

Great story, and he sounds like a neat guy!

I just threw that number 'out there'....no idea what a "as new" delivery miles only example would be worth, I was trying to guess the ceiling of the current market.

Back with you, after avoiding eviction.

I'd better pick up some LOTTO on the way home.....
