Lots of people crapped on Bruni/Baumgartner with Minardi last Yr in F1. It just shows that Anyone on a F1 grid is a champion.

Bruni was know to have talent before he got to Minardi. He just didn't have much in the way of funds. Baumgartner was the opposite. Everyone knew he didn't have any talent but enough funds. Baumgartner got his a$$ handed to him on a regular basis in F3000 and was a backmarker in the two years he spent there.

    Agree.

What do you think of Pantano? 2000 German F3 Champion and did good in F3000. Heidfeld destroyed him all year in that Jordan. But it's not easy coming in F1 and driving a crappy car such as the EJ14.

Pantano................tough to figure out. At times he looked brilliant in the lower formula but he's inconsistent and seem to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. I really thought he had what it took to be in F1 but he's past his sell by date. I think what screwed him was loosing his seat when Astromega signed three drivers at one time (Bourdais, Pantano, and someone else). He ended up loosing the seat and ended up at Coloni which is small fries compared to Astromega at the time. Despite this he won some races and finished second to Bourdais.

He won numerous euro and world junior kart titles. He has blazing speed and great overtaking ability but for some reason he's always come up short. Some of it might be talent but some of it is also funds. Remember he had trouble making his payments to Jordan throughout the season.

    Regards,

    Jon
