your post seems to answer your question. :)

Yes, it was the car on Ebay. Told me one price and now he is backing out. I know that this stuff happens all the time BUT I sure wish that people would stand by their word. I would never do this to someone, even if I was offered more!

Graham Everett is an old friend of mine. He used to be the head mechanic for JLP racing, and think he also worked with Aiken and the Wittingtons for a bit.. He later worked for Ruggles building Buick Turbo-v6 motors for the Buch series. He did some small work on my 330 motor for me.

I did not know he was selling cars, but would say his technical ability is superior....

That is exactly what I was going to do...RSR. I called Graham up when the car was first put on and asked if he would sell it, he said sure and that he would tell his son to take it off Ebay. We agreed to on a price and I began making plans to pick the car up. Well, the car stayed on Ebay much to my suprise. I kept trying to contact him (which is very hard to do) and finally got a hold of him. He said he would check with his son about taking if off Ebay AGAIN. Well, the next thing I know is that it is sold ON EBAY! When I contacted them, they now wanted $16K+ for the car which is serveral thousand more than we agreed to. I told him that if his word or reputation is not worth a few grand forget it. I even asked when we first made the deal that I was willing to send a check overnight and he said it was not needed. I would NEVER do this to someone, even if I was offered more money later.

I have no doubt he is a great mechanic but he is not one to be trusted when selling a car that is for sure. His WORD is worth nothing!

I was renewing researching the history of my car since I met Graham for the first time yesterday at the HSR event at Road Atlanta. I own the'72 black/black wide-bodied 911 you reference. I am the third owner since Graham sold it, and it spent 2 months on jack-stands while I sorted through it from front to back and in-between. It is a really fun car. The guy I bought it from had taken it and some $ for a car he was selling. The seller just had quadruple bypass and decided the 911 would be too much excitement for him - or so he told me. Anyway, I would love to know what you know about the car other than the eBay ad (which I have), and was thinking about putting it up for sale this month.

Forgo to mention one thing, after noticing your moniker "NSXer" - I also own an Acura NSX-T, '97 black/black, so obviously we have great taste in cars.

Yep. Trying to figure out how to post photos with reduced file size. They were taken with the opportunity to make them poster size so I have a memento when it is sold, so 5 - 10Mb each. This site says max 293Kb.

I forgot about this thing.... but that is the car. Glad you are having fun with it.
I am sure Graham is a nice guy but his word is no good. I do not have any information regarding the car other than when it was on Ebay...sorry. Still looks very nice. How does it run? Are you thinking of selling it?
Yes, I have an NSX as well...fantastic cars.

Glad you responded. Graham seems to be a man of few words and was not very personable when I was talking to him the other day (or several months ago when I was talking to him about who did the engine rebuild). Possibly due to he was crewing for one of the car owner/drivers at the time and had other things on his mind (though we were during the 2 hour quiet time) or he has the classical stoic "British" nature about him. In any case, the car is very fun, gets a lot of thumbs-up, but I will be putting it up for sale starting this weekend in person at the large monthly "Caffeine and Octane" meet here in Atlanta. It is so different than the NSX, which is much more refined and quiet (unless you get to higher revs in the NSX). I love that the 911 is basic and you can work on it - no computers, manual shift, no power brakes, no ABS, no electric windows, no power steering, and is light in weight. Very raw that involves all of your senses when you drive it. And fantastic steering feel - so much better than the NSX. Notwithstanding, I had my fun resurrecting and improving it to my satisfaction (it needed a lot of old things replaced or refurbished), can now state I have owned a Porsche, and want to start driving the NSX more.
