Hi Guys Picked up the GT and headed off from Switzerland for a late night drive into Mid West Germany. Sat Nav said 6 hours. First time I had taken my GT anywhere, so I thought I would give it a good going over. Firstly the shape of the car cannot be appreciated until you get to have a look at one in the flesh and then one close up and then whilst driving it. The looks it gets are in excess of the 599 and only second to the SLR and Enzo. The colour combination Rubino with Red leather and piano Black wood (high gloss) is stunning and looks better by the day. Anyhow through Customs and get onto Autbahn 5, going North. Take it upto 120mph, no problem smooth and quiet on teh inside with a nice rumble of the exhaust always there. the electronics on the inside are great but no bluetooth, this was a fully loaded car and I paid $3000 for the GSM phone option, but heh!! Get to 135mph and start to feel the agression kicking into the car, it is a different machine now, go through 150mph and then 165mph, the car is civil, engaging and a true cruiser. I have a play with a 997 Turbo and a M6, both hang around to have a good look and play until they are starting to struggle or loose their appetite. Get to Germany, average 97mph and 19.7 mpg (english gallon). The driver takes just under 5 hours and I jump out of the car feeling good. i must say my impression of the car has changed from the test drive. Keep this car in manual mode and it is pound for pound the best value car around. It covers all bases adn covers them well. From Germany through the night to Amsterdam, agression all the way, can't find anybody that can live with us so just go it alone. 170mph on the clock and we can have a civil conversation. get to Amsterdam ahve some fun and crash out. Next morning therir are a few guys around the car having a good look. Smile have breakfast and head to London. Hit traffic, crank up the bose and enjoy Queen. Get to London, go to a club, park outside and she has found her home. A great car gentleman, great value, great motoring and will constantly put a smile on your face. Regards Mike Will post some better pics soon. Original ones did not do the colour of the leather any justice.
nice story, its a bigger car in person then i thought it would be, but im glad to hear its a great driver
Its as big as the 612 Scaglietti but with much better looks and IMO looks better than the 599! All this cars are B I G & heavy today but with the Ferraris nobody complains....! Ciao! Walter
I like the new car and find it fantastic! It will become a real GREAT one with the 4.7-liter engine! Ciao! Walter
FILING MY COMPLAINT!!! lol lol I LOVE THIS CAR!! Even thought I could not push its fat ass more than 3 inches!! I will attest to one thing... the gas gage works! Empty = EMPTY!! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just a quick note to justify the size. Those are real adult rear seats. I can't fit my dogs in the rear of a DB9. The new two seat convertible hardtop will be built on a shorter wheelbase and more to some tastes.
