Gran Turismo 5 Ferrari F2007 footage

OMG!!! Polyphonic really should put out an all F1 game. That has to be the best simulation I've ever seen. Do you know if it's in the stores yet? I heard it was still a month away.

 

Wow! After watching the F2007 in-car, the 599 and the F430 look like tanks... and slow... OMG!

Gogamer releases my copy in the US on the 17th of April, here's hoping...

Gonna take a long time to get 2M credits to buy the F1 car, though.

 

It does look stunning and better than F1CE for PS3, but I doubt this is a F1 game. In GT4 you could buy the F1 car and race it against other cars (shooting fish in a barrel comes to mind), but not in a F1 race. I'd think that is similar here, plus it only has a few tracks, Suzuka happens to be a real F1 track.

However it does show what the PS3 is capable of. Hopefully Sony spins this off as a new fully fledged F1 game.

 

Wow. That looks absolutely amazing. I want/need this game. There was strictly F1 racing in GT5. It was only a set of 10 or so races though...

 

I am going to reserve a copy based solely on that clip. If they were to put out an all F1 game, and it played like that, I'd fail out of school.

Look at all those missed apexes and horrible racing line, reminds me of Massa.

Really though, this game looks absolutely amazing as a 2 inch youtube video, I can't wait to see it on a 60'' LCD.

 

For people with the japanese version, you can download the free update that brings it up to what the US/PAL versions offer.

 

Gran Tourismo never has been a real hardcore simulation. I'm waiting for Blimeys Ferrari project

 

How do you get to to play any of their games? GT Legends & Karting look like fun.

 

GT Legends is the best racing game (or rather simulation) ever. I've been playing it for three years now, so much fun. You can buy it nowadays for less than 10 $/€, get yourself a steering wheel and there you go. I love it, and I guess their Ferrari sim will be breathtaking.

I wish the really good sims would look at Forza2 and its support for three monitors. <sigh>

 

Afaik there is the possibility to play it with three monitors, you need a smal device from Matrox... triple...triple...triplesomething

Matrox triple head it is. Don't know about the support, but I saw several guys post their three-monitor-setups at forum.racesimcentral.com - take a look there and ask around!

It wasn't a bad lap at all, other than running off a bit at the exit of spoon curve, and early apex at 130R.

Thanks for this info! I have had the Japanese version since January, and thought I'd have to buy the US version just to drive the F40 and the F1 car. I am going to download the update for free now and report on it later! I love Playstation Network!

 

I'm new in GT. I've just checked http://www.us.playstation.com/granturismo/products_carlist_pro.asp but didn't see the Ferrari F1 car, however, 430/599/F40/512BB are on the list. Is Ferrari F1 an additional option?

amazing footage. those endurance races w/o pauses will be exhausting.
they must be using simulated information for the F2008, right? they couldnt test it to gather all the physics of the car to make a truely realistic game, or?

 

Do you watch the F1 races? Massa's problem is not being able to put together one good lap. He's problem is making huge random mistakes, usually associated with too much oversteer.

Anyways, there's a current rumor going around that Sony will use it's F1 license to include a "F1 Championship" section in GT5, instead of making a separate game.
