Seeing as there is a Forza 3 thread I thought I would start a Gran Turismo 5 one, Suprised there isn't one anyway (or one being kept alive). With the Ferrari 458 Italia announced and a stunning trailer it promises to be a great game. I recently switched from an xbox purely for this game!! Been waiting 3 years for it and finally Tomorrow (24th September) at the Tokyo Gamer Show the release date wil be announced along with a 'major advancement' on previous news. The E3 Trailer was stunning, and the Gamescom playable Damage* simulation on the Subaru was promising if abit less pleasing. Bring on tomorrow!!

Opinions/News pleasee I know there are alot of Ps3 users on the forum!

    Regardss...

    They're kinda screwing themselves.

All the people that didn't know whether to get an Xbox or PS3 are now going with the Xbox so they don't have to wait another 6-9 months for GT5.

    Knowing PD's history:

It'll come out after winter solstice.
It'll come out 6 months after Japan's release.
They'll amaze the world by doing something totally different that makes no sense.

GT5 is going to be incredible and that game alone will save the ps3 system.. I have a whole racing seat set up designed for it

I have high doubts that it will "save" the system. All of the current gen "on the fencers" that want a racing game (FM3 or GT5) will go with the 360 thanks to release dates.

The prologue already has Forza 3 pipped on the grapics front, i'm a huge forza fan, but other than a few new pretty scenerys, and cockpit view (which is still quite arcadey) it looks too much like forza 2. I don't mind waiting longer for a faultless game, just aslong as when it does come out its something special. I am really considering going back to xbox for a few months untill it does. I would happily take any criticism from xbox fanboys because frankly Polyphony's publicity scheme (what there is of it) keep the fans too in the dark. Turn ten definately now how to please there fans and I think by Sony announcing this 2010 release, they have lost ALOT of eager racing fans to the xbox. I would kill for just a monthly drip feed of info from PD!!!

Also, GT5 looks SO good, ahhhhhh come on sony get your act together we're waiting on you!

    ^ That would be fun!

    Quotes from the interview:
    Hahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahhhahahahahahaahahah, bull **** :D

They lost a huge percentage of their players/followers because of moving the dates. If they did what Forza 3 did with releasing more content, and hyping up the crowd, they would have an audience. Now it's like, "Oh right, we are dealing with a perfectionist, this game will never be out on the day they say it will be". They kept their audience in the dark, and Forza 3 just reeled them in.

Polyphony did not mention a release date until the TGS.

It's amazing how irate people have become over this game (see GTplanet). They complain about push backs and perfectionism, but the alternative is release the game tomorrow with less features and more bugs. The same people complaining about how long it is taking, will then complain that PD should have taken more time to get things right.

PD gifted us GT:HD for free and with it, introduced Ferrari. That demo held my attention for quite some time. Then came GT5 Prologue which brought us several new cars, updated physics, and for the first time in the series, online racing. My PS3 died a couple weeks ago while playing Prologue, otherwise I would be in a F2007 rounding Suzuka right now against up to 15 other human racers.

The game will come eventually, and when it does it will be the best simulator available for consoles. I would say I can't wait, but I can wait because PD has proven they know how to produce a quality product.

I read that Gran Turismo for the PSP (800 cars, 35 tracks) went on sale yesterday, and that cars unlocked on the PSP version will be transferable to the PS3 version when it comes out. (In 2012? ...just kidding!)

Man...looking at the gameplay footage GT5 is definitely a step ahead of Forza 3 in terms of graphic realism. Fortunately, I have both systems so I can have the quick fix of Forza ahead of GT5. It's like PGR4 with realistic driving physics.

Wow, only 38 Skylines? I expected at least 50! :D

I'm tempted to get a PSP just for GT now... like I did with the PS2...
