I'm ready to buy a GranTurismo and torn between an S or not. 50k for a color combo I love. Clutch just done former CPO and fully and recently serviced. 30k miles. No sticky but a few buttons wording worn off on window switches and trans selector. S exhaust sounds ludicrous (great). What's the real world premium for S model? 1 of 300. On Ferrari that adds value. How about here? Anyone have real world experience of ownership of a 2009 F1? Is the clutch really as failure prome as some say (short life). Is it better to go to next gen engine non S?

I've had my F1 for 3 years. No issues, I take it to John Heim at SF Motorsports every six months for engine and gear box fluid change and a good look over.

I value the uniqueness and feel of the 599 gear box over the extra cost of ownership. At some point, the clutch will need to be done, and my F1 actuator is weeping, and neither of those will be cheap but its worth it to me. You don't need to worry about those in the hydraulic version. I don't use it as a daily driver, just a fun weekend car

I don't know what the premium is, wouldn't be surprise if there wasn't one. I lowered mine, but a novatec lip on it, wheel spacers, and took off all the bling logos and blacked out the chrome bits. I love the car.

Once you drive a 2009 GTS with 599 F1 you will never drive another GTS

I just about DD my 09 S. Not concerned about mileage as it'll depreciate anyways. It's been very dependable.

The one thing I'll mention is I always plug a battery tender in at night. When I first got it, some misc warnings would randomly pop up in the am (shutting ignition off then back on would clear it.) Hasn't happened since using a tender. It's weird but eh, it's Italian... If you are a DIY guy, working on it isn't so bad.

Also fwiw, I would never buy one without the MC shift. If you've ever heard it shift above 5500 rpm with sport cats you would agree! :)

Definitely get the 2009 GTS with F1 - only a few made - engine made at Ferrari, F1 super fast from 599 and skyhook suspension
You will think you are driving a Ferrari - the most over looked model ever - the best car for the price ever
I am in the process of putting on FF cc brakes on the GTS - can you imagine the stopping power
