This should answer the old question...

If GrandAM has a race in front of 300,000 empty
seats, does it make a noise?

granted it's a rainy Friday afternoon in Speedway but sheesh, there are what 5,000 fans there tops?

    5000 is generous.

I'd wager that, as at most GrandAM races, there
are more team members, support staff, etc. attending
    than there are paying fans.

And of those "Man on the street fans" that GrandAM
invented, 75% of them are there on comped tickets.

    What an F-ing embarrassment.

Why are they racing and broadcasting on Friday? I can understand if it was on tape delay and rebroadcast over the weekend but........

racing prior to Nationwide tmw and Sprit Cup Sunday; I'm sure it will be condensed and rebroadcast this weekend.

They're racing there, as the original announcement went,
to race in front of the largest spectating crowd on
    the NASCAR schedule.

More to the point, it's a test balloon to see if Indy
would make a suitable 24 Hour race venue since
their race at Daytonner has done so well the past
    several years.
