Check out wherever you're staying. It's been a while since I was there, but I seem to recall finding a dive shop was pretty easy, and they all seemed pretty interchangeable.

I have been diving for 14 yrs now, but my wife will be getting cert on this trip or at least a intro class, so I want somewhere that will be slow and take there with her, sometimes in the resort places they tend to just run you thourgh, without being to considerate.

Agreed, many great dive shops there. I won't be able to go back for quite some time as my timeshare resort (Morritt's) was pretty much devastated in the hurricanes :(

    John,

You are gonna love the diving there. I was there in 1996 and remembered you can see for a great distance in the water. Friends of mine did 3-4 dives while they were there, I more snorkeled because I need to wear glasses/contacts to see any distances.

How has the island recovered from the hurricanes? My parents time share on 7 Mile beach was destroyed and closed indefinitely. They did not plan on going there in the next couple of years anyways but still they had a great place. Due to the damage, the company gave them a bonus week for 2005 which they gave to me since they have 3 vacations planned for the year.

So just booked a trip to Palm Springs for some golf and sun with the girlfriend.

A cool place I remember was The Blue Parrot outdoor bar/restaraunt. My buddy and I went to an all you can eat BBq for 15.00 p/p and the ribs were fantastic! Just a cool place for a drink.

    Have fun,
    Mike
