Grand Opening of DFW's newest Body Shop

Greetings all, after a long hiatus out the automotive repair industry I'm back. This time as an estimator & not a shop owner. With this announcement I with to cordially invite you all to PLANET PAINT, DFW's newest state of the art auto body repair center.

Where: 5921 Rufe Snow Watauga, TX

When: 10am to 2pm or whenever we decide to end the event.

Why: Because I'm asking you to come visit our open house, tour our facilities, free food, drinks, & fun for the kids or just say hello!

We deal with all types of vehicles, but mainly most of your basic lines due to our geographic location. Lots to pick-ups, sedans, & vans. Watauga doesn't have much of an exotic car market. Regardless, of that please stop by.

 

My boss asked me to do this



I made the poster complete with one of my own Enzo photos from the Boardwalk event years ago. Also we will have a moonbounce for the kids & custom car show. Stop by for a visit & grab some free grub.

 

This is just a temporary setback folks, the shop has been frightfully slow & until business picks up & I’ll be back to handle the fleet accounts. I was brought on to handle the CARMAX accounts & they are currently undergoing an audit, even their 24hr body shop is at a record slowdown. Thing are tough all over, used car dealers are hurting as well, I went prospecting yesterday & it looked like the used car manager was about to cry due to the slowdown (unless he just got back from a meeting with his GSM.) I’m told I’m still apart of their organization but the owner cannot afford to pay my salary. The shop has only been open since the first week of February & it does take time to get established. It took me six months in order to start making a profit with my old shop in Houston but I made it work.

I was told this could only be for two or three weeks so in the mean time I can straighten out my new home, spend some time with my mother (I had to put her in a home a few weeks ago due to her illness), take the I-CAR certification test, & maybe run down to Houston to clear my head, see friends & family. I’ll still be there for Planet Paint’s grand opening, after all I I’m part of it. Thanks for all your support.

 

What a day, I drove out there in ol' 2blue, a friend's 92 348ts this morning but forgot how hot it was going to get today. The event was a success & the kids loved the bounce house the shop rented. I left around 12:30 due to the heat & wearing jeans. Headed then back to the Panther City to catch the last third of the Dallas Stars victory. Here's a couple photos from this morning. (Btw, that's a Toyota MR2 with a 335 front bumper cover on it.)

Watching it somewhere, I'm currently without a TV. I disposed of my 13 old Sony when I moved out of the apartment. I took the one here at the house to my mothers nursing home. I only have cable internet at the house for now. Man, I really miss SpeedTV.

 

That thought has crossed my mind as well but the commute would be a killer.
