Good job Grosjean and Dale Coyne Racing . . . the little team that could. Pole for the Grand Prix of Indy.

Another new winner in Veekay. Congratulations. A stellar run for Grosjean even though 2nd might seem disappointing.
GRO should have stopped a lap or two earlier. I think his last stop was a bit slow too great win by Veekay and ECR. 5 races, 5 different winners. on to the 500
And, he couldn't seem to get past Bourdais until it was too late. The black tires weren't agreeing with his car toward the end. BHW
He struggled on blacks and his battle to lap Sato likely cost him a chunk of time as well. It was a good race. I doubt this is the last time thud season we see him near the front.
Yes he should have stopped sooner. GRO was running 2 seconds off the pace by the time he pitted. That cost him the lead to Veekay. Interesting to see Veekay's parents there at the race. They moved from the Netherlands to FL so they could further their son's career as a driver. No way without big money backing could he have made it through the ranks in Europe with Formula cars. He signed on to run the USF2000 series a step on the ladder to Indycars. When he moved to the US he changed his name from Van Kalmthout to Veekay.....a lot easier to remember and pronounce...lol. Out of 5 races 4 have been won by the "yung-uns". Pallou is 24, Herta 26, OWard is 21 and now Veekay at 20 years old. Veteran Scott Dixon was the other race winner. Dixon is consistent and the current points leader. Pallou is 2nd. Newgarten with no poles nor wins is 3rd in points. The Vets and their teams know how to finish as high as they can even though they know they won't win the race. I used to be an F1 snob. Now I am an Indycar junkie!
Your correct. I guess my mind mistakenly put his car number instead of his age. I watched him from our condo overlooking the track when he won the St Pete Gran Prix a few weeks ago. Nobody could touch him. View from my balcony of Herta. Image Unavailable, Please Login
