Depending on the age of your console, this might be the problem. GTA V is crashing Xbox 360s manufactured before 2009 | Games | Geek.com
I picked the game up last tuesday and have been playing a couple hours each night taking my time to enjoy the view. My first real stab at a GTA game and I'm blown away. I'm up to the part where Trevor is shooting stuff from on top of a dilapidated hotel. After that I took his dune buggy and drove it up into the mountains. The diversity of stuff you see is amazing and really makes the map feel alive. When you compare what GTA5 has done to what they gave us for Forza Horizon, FH should've been a $19 DLC for Forza 4 I talked my 63 year old sister into getting the game so we can play online and she can play as a female, change her appearance and decorate houses which she had fun doing in TDU2. She started the single player last night but having done one of the paparazzi missions and spent some time in the strip club I think she is in for a shock as this ain't no TDU2
I played this all weekend. I love everything about this game except that it seems a lot of the missions have no payout.
I agree. Even after buying some of the properties, the return on them isn't that great( I haven't bought any of the $1M+ properties though).
Really helps if you play the stockmarket using Lester's advice on his missions...You can make BIG bucks doing that.
No, but don't invest in Lifeinvader. Lester will give you advice on the assassination missions after the lifeinvader one.
I've noticed there's a few easter eggs around various parts of the map, people to speak to all tied to some sort of illuminati / UFO conspiracies. Go check out some of the areas such as observation platforms & look for special markings or messages. One odd thing I found, I had Michael smoke a joint from someone he spoke to in the park, next thing he trips out while being attacked & gunning down aliens....very strange.
Each character will run into this guy at some point, and you can expect something similar for each. There is a similar, funnier scene involving Michael a bit later on...
I did the drug drop mission last night with Trevor but I had more issues trying to land the damn plane correctly. I think it took me about ten attempts until I figured it out without landing without the gear down, overshooting the runway, coming up too short, wrong approach angle, etc.. What a pain in the arse.
Finished the main story a few days ago. Now playing the side missions. The side missions from Strangers and Freaks are just as interesting as the main storyline. Buy the Lo Santos Customs shop for free upgrades to cars. All the other businesses make some paper but require you to do side missions. The only other business you really need during the campaign is the sub one to collect all the nuclear waste @ $25k a pop. There are those money glitches available but I haven't had the need to use them. There is decent bank near the end.
Can you get the 10 car garage in the main game.. Or is it multiplayer only? Can you play in multiplayer mode by yourself without xbox live subscription?
i can't even get in a server. I've made a new character about 5 times now, and there were no missions or anything to do... buggy as hell
Xbox Live has always required Gold to play multiplayer games. I haven't been able to get into Online yet. Keep getting errors but it's issues for both consoles.
Tried online last night and got stuck loading at the first race. Meanwhile my sister got online and she had no problem and made it through the first few things required to do before she got distracted and spent the rest of the night shopping for an outfit for her character. I tried again and the third time I was able to do the first race and a couple other things they make you do. Eventually you are prompted to get a car and take it to Los Santos Customs. I did and on my way back out I got car jacked by two other online players. Moved on to the next thing they want you to do and got stuck on another loading screen so I called it a night. Looks like it will be fun once they get it running smoothly.
Thanks, yea I figured. Outside of multiplayer though, can you purchase the new properties like the 10 car garage in story mode?
According to Rockstar it's still broken tho improved since day1. I just keep getting stuck on the "waiting for other players" screen just before race1. You are suppose to be able to buy apartments/garages etc.
Much better online tonight for me at least. I was able to invite my sister to do some racing together and it was pretty fun. We did cars, motorcycles and bicycles. We also did a mission where we had go rob some hippies of their contraband up in the hills and it was a race to see who could rob them first. That was pretty fun. We were not able to join each other in a lobby or session for some free roam but that was because they were full. I believe there is a way to make a private lobby so we'll try that next time. Seems like the more you play online the more stuff opens up. I'm seeing better cars, I've been told I can now buy a garage and was warned to put my money in the bank because other online players can rob me of it so I went to the ATM and made a deposit. I'm still blown away by the size and detail of the map.
