When I was at Ferrari of Orange County recently, I saw a Maser Grandsport Spyder that was not for sale. Personally, I thought that it looked pretty good. I used to own a 2004 Vintage Spyder and loved it except for a hole right at 3,000 rpm. Is this a new model for Maserati? Man, I really did like that Spyder. The gals really loved it. Us old white fat guys need all the help we can get. Yep, I really did like that Spyder.

That's actually the 90th Anniversary edition you saw. Not known as a gransport spyder, but it basically is a gransport convertible.

First it is Gransport not Grandsport and second there is a new Gransport Spyder with the exterior and interior of the Gransport Coupe. Saw it in Detroit and it does look very good. Engine is terrific and the handling is probably better as well. I had a 2002 Spyder that I thought was too soft. I now have a 2006 Gransport Coupe and it is terrific. Just an FYI

Thanks. So this car, Gransport Spyder, is different from the 90th ed car, yes?

I had a 2004 Vintage Spyder and loved it. It was burgundy with cream. Beautiful car. It was also a hoot on the track.

Yes the Gransport Spyder is different from the 90th anniversary car. But not that much different. The Gransport Spyder does not come with the carbon fiber toneau cover that came on the anniversary car. Also you can get the Gransport Spyder in more colors. Whereas the anniversary car only came in one color I believe. I think other than that the cars are pretty similar.

90th comes in 2 colours I think; blue & silver.

As far as I remember it has a lot of the visual aspects of the GranSport but doesn't have the modified gerabox or exhaust so 390 hp...

mak is correct. 90th anniversary spyder came in silver or blue.
it is basically a Visual GS Spyder with mechanics of a regular spyder.

When I was at Ferrari of SD last week, I spoke with the salesman there about the 90th anniversary they had. He said that it was pretty much a Gransport Spyder. They called this one the 90th anniversary for the '05(?) model year only. Only differences were the limited production run, special touches (carbon fiber tonneau, blue carbon fiber weave, etc.) The '06 models will be called the Gransport spyder. For some reason I remember him saying that the 90th had an increased HP over the GS coupe (a slight one) but he may have been referring to the '06's.

The 90th is not the same car as the GS. They may not be much different, but they're not the same car.

the 90th anniversary is the same as a regular spyder but with gransport body features. the gransport spyder is the saem mechanincally as the gransport coupe, only in spyder form. the gransport spyder is an upgraded 90th, in many ways. i saw the gransport spyders under production when in modena. almost every spyder they were making was a gransport. it make sme wonder how quickly they will run through that 300 production run.

The 90th Anniversary Spyder from '05 and the newly available GranSport Spyder share the same mechanicals and most all of the cosmetic features (no Carbon tonneau for the GS)
The wheels, seats, exhuast, suspension tuning, Cambio Corsa tuning, etc...they're all the same. Also, for 2006, the only Spyder in production is the GranSport.

that is just absolutely wrong, especially when so many other posts above you already indicated that the 90th anniversary spyder is NOT mechanically the same as a GS Spyder.

simply, let's start with the engine, which is rated at 390hp for the 90th, and 400hp for the GS spyder.
