For those of you with knowledge and experience with both, how much different was the grandsport in handling, paddle shifting, and alround improvement vs the GT..is it worth waiting for and pay extra for a used grandsport spider vs the gt spider??? thanks in advance for current opinions......

The Gransport needs some extra power (easily fixed with the aftermarket chips) otherwise it's a fantastic car, unbeatable for a 4 seater. The Granturismo S feels faster and more aggressive, even though on paper it has a lower power-to-weight ratio (because of its heavier weight). However, test figures put the GT-S at 4.5s on the 0-100 Km/h (62mph), meaning about 4.2s on the 0-60mph. The 1/4 mile comes in the high twelves. As I wrote in another post, this suggests that the GT-S has somewhat closer to 500 HP than Ferrari would care to admit...

So, as it is today the GT-S is a winner. It's well built, very fast, refined, handles well (at least as well as an Aston Vantage or BMW M3) and the gearbox-engine combination is a dream. Oh, and the sound... stuff of dreams.

On the other hand, a low mileage Gransport will cost you half the price of a GT-S, and for a few thousand bucks you can equip it with the performance chip, drive-by-wire chip for the gearbox-throttle response, and if you take it to the track you can add the sway bars and performance brake pads. All included, for less than $70K you will have a car that is as fast as the GT-S and that is not going to take such a depreciation hit any more.
