Not sure what's going on. In 18k miles in 18 months I haven't experienced any F1 shifting problems. 2-3k miles ago at service they said still 60-70% clutch left.

Yesterday just a short drive going out to eat in Sport mode (always except rain) shifts were delayed, close to when you aren't in Sport mode or even worse. Slow speed and from stops it was like the clutch was slipping and there was a beeping, although no error lights. I have seen the transmission error light in the past, but went away quickly. No error lights now.

So last night it was driving really bad, but on the way home after eating and then today everything seems fine.

How do you tell when clutch going on F1? On a manual you usually first notice in high gears like 4th or 5th under high load.

Not an expert but, have a GS as well...sounds like the clutch is shot. Put the car in 4th or 5th on the freeway...floor it...does it catch right away and accelerate or does it rev then catch. Thats the hill billy clutch wear test.

There is an adjustment with the clutch...kiss point or something is what the mechanics call it...that will adjust the clutch so it works as designed.

Google formula dynamics. Jeff sells a bunch of stuff for the Maseratis that transform the car....one of the mods makes the car shift faster...thus, car feels better and actually wears the clutch less.

We love our GS. Its a friggen ball to drive. Fast, gorgeous. Being 100% honest, in real world driving the GS is more enjoyable vs our Gallardo Spyder! Sounds nuts but, true.

The only reason we would sell our GS is to get a used Bentley GT. The depreciation on those puppies is epic. 06-07's with less than 30k are retailing in the $70s-80s. MSRP was $200k! Drove one last weekend....nothing like the GS...but, fun none the less.

I had the PIS point adjusted last service and it seemed to help for a little on take offs, but then reverted back after awhile. Not sure if memory or ECU readjusts itself.

I love the GranSport too, plan was to have the GranSport a few years and then trade-in for a 612, but we might just keep it forever. It is many times more car than they are selling for now.

Jennie and I test drove the Bentley GT at Crescent Tour Classic a few years ago and agree it’s a great car. What it gives up in sporty looks it gets back in regal looks. Still handles and performs like a small sports car.

    Rob,

When the clutch sensor forgets where it is, the box will drop out of gear when coming to a stop. That's your first indication of a worn clutch.

What you are experiencing might be the clutch position sensor itself starting to shag out.

I just spoke to Nic, bring it by any time and we will read the car again to see what has changed.

Thanks Dan. It has driven OK since that short trip, I just ran it up hard 4th to 5th and no slip. It is due oil anyway, I just wanted to make sure it is OK for the rally tomorrow. I'll probably be in next week.
