...on the slalom, skidpad, and 60-0 braking. For the Slalom: 72.2MPH (Accding to Road and Track, Sept '05, p. 130) for the Gransport (Also, the only time I've EVER found for a GS on the 600ft Slalom) VS. 65.7MPH (Accding to MotorTrend, and other various sources)
I'm not that surprised that the gransport beat the 575...the gransport is much smaller and not as wide so it goes around the corners faster...but the 575 beats the gransport by speed altogether, exclusitivity, power, prestige, (it goes on....) id take one gransport please.....
Where did that number 166 come from? I thought 1000 GS were being made of which 24% were RHD and the remainding 75% LHD.
Somehow I remembered it wrong. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=134657980&postcount=3 300 is still less than the number of 575's that are/have been built.
Only thing is, the 575 (BASE) Costs about 2 1/2 Gransports. Comparing the Gransport to the 612S would be interesting. the GS is virtually the same thing, just not as powerful
Well, you know, the mini cooper i bought my mum outperforms on slalom etc. both the 575 and the GS, and 99% percent of the other cars... Still, i got a 550.... go figure. If you put down a car to such raw data, get a kit car.
Yeah, not going with you on that one. 612S GT. Sporting but with loads of power and also very good long road manners. GS much more "track" ready.
Although it's a base 575, which several cars "kill" in agility, it's still impressive for the GS. Bravo Maserati. But that doesn't mean I would cancel my order for a 575 Fiorano or GTC, not because of skidpad and slalom numbers. You must be kidding. I would call the GS a junior 575 and 612, which I believe is Maserati's aim, and it seems like they've hit the bull's eye. It's a distinct, very appealing car in its own right, however, just like the QP. Forza, Cavallini
The way I look at it, yes. They're both passionate Italian 2+2's. They're both a little on the larger side. The only difference? The 612S is a bit more powerful. (and 3 times the price)
Stock for stock, the 575M is a much better car. Why? Lets just say.. around $134,000 dollars might do the trick. One more thing, say what you will, but the 612 Scaglietti is an embarassment to Ferrari. If it had never been created - the 575 was just carried over for another couple of years - no one would complain. I would sacrifice 20 hp for 200 lbs, $30,000 and much better looks. The 575M is the best modern 2+2, next to the 550 and 456GTA. I'm aware that the GS is capable of much more power and lower times with a chip, but so is the 575. P.S. - Blu, its Attaus from SCF. I quit (somewhat because Rollin de-modded me.. heh) anyway, just thought I would say hi.
456 is far better looking IMO that the 550, 575 and definitely the 612. I have absolutely no idea what a Grandsport is but I am sure it is fast and probably better looking that the 550 and 575 (oh those ugly headlights). Pete
I have always been a big Maserati booster on this board, I enjoyed owning my 03 coupe, and have driven the GS more than once. As nice a car as it is it is not a match for a 575. Drive them both back to back, I think you will feel the same.
