Does anywone have any insight on this? Just ordered a Grantourismo in Fuji white only to learn from my dealer that the color will not be available and if I am persistant it will take excess of 10months to get it done. Does anyone know anything about this? Its on the same color schale of "on request" as the grey's and blue's avail on this car....HELP!!!

That sucks, 10 months is a long time to wait for a color. I do like the Bianco Fuji, I think that it is one of the best colors out there for the GT

The Maserati Car Configurator on their website shows that Bianco Fuji is available on request. It very well may take 10 months. In hindsight, wouldn't you rather wait for that color and have a color that is a little more rare and desirable than getting the car in a color that isn't your top choice.

My personal belief is to not let a dealer persuade you. Afterall, they just want to get a quick sale with little effort. Custom ordering a car will take more effort and time, bad for them.

It's true. I ordered mine in Bianco Fuji, as did several other customers at that dealer. I was told that if I really wanted it, they would build one in 6mths time and the other customers were told to change their orders to something else. I ended up changing to silver rather than wait until next June.

The local paint shop that does the rectification work for Maserati here also told me that the Bianco Fuji cars almost always have problems in the paint. It is not an easy colour to get 100% right apparently. They have also had to fix several brand new Aston's and a new Phantom painted in variations of pearl white for the same reasons.

I love the colour; but suspect it isn't worth the expense and trouble.

10 month wait or 10 week wait, I personally can't understand why anyone would be willing to pay $8k for paint! There are plenty of beautiful colors that Maserati offers that don't dictate an additional cost or delay in production.

I had a similar scenario with a Fuji Biano GranSport a few years back, I settled for the Nero Carbonio. I too have heard of problems with that style of paint. I've even heard of the Lambo's version of white metallic (balloon white I believe) actually turning a yellowish hue near the rear bumper due to the heat of the exhaust.

With all those negatives, here is a short preview of what you'll look like. :)

I saw one on a truck last week that stopped by to drop off a new F430 for us, it was then heading to the west coast. I love Bordeaux Pontevecchio on the QP but I think the GT needs a more intense color.

we just got a grigio tour and a black in. id take the black. The Bianco Fuji colors are really backed up, but I think it would be the best color for this car.

But Bianco Fuji was the original color of the GT prototype. :)

Jason Castriota, Pininfarina exterior designer: Every three to four weeks, we'd update Maserati management on our progress with the GranTurismo. We'd take them to the roof of our design center and unveil a full-sized replica of the GT. We painted it in the same cool, pearly white color that we developed for the Birdcage. We'd give them a moment to take it in, and then we'd brief them on what we did and why we did it. It was a very fast process. Normally, it takes 18 to 24 months to design a car. We did it in six months.
