Stopped by on the way to another appointment in Menlo. They have the new Maserati behind the ropes on the showroom floor. Pretty amazing curves and a cleaner interior, although the front might look better in a darker color (black concave grill stands out abit too much, IMO). The 3/4 rear end view is absolutely the best.
The car is on tour from FNA, so I am not sure how long it will be there.

My 02 coupe 6 speed is still holding together despite the warranty having expired. I will have to wait to drive the new one. Claims about lack of low end torque (Autoweek) worry me, since this is the very aspect I enjoy in the current motor. I am also not sure of the 0-60 numbers. Mine prob has 400hp (free flow/cold air filter, exhaust mods). The new one has 5hp more and is heavier. It is also a pure automatic, albeit with paddles. It is lovely to look at....Is that worth a premium of $70K over what I could get for my car on the open market?

I have actually gone soft, and you can see me driving the 67 caddy convertible most often, anyway.
    :)

BTW that car is a prototype although you couldn't tell by the fit and finish. I saw this car last Thursday (8/23) and was able to sit in it. As far as looks I like it much better than the previous Maser Coupe and I agree a darker color would work better on this car.

I think the wheel design is their attempt to incorporate the Trident. Although I don't hate them, I think they could have done better.
