I noticed the dealership in Scottsdale has one for sale on their lot.

Note the 4.7 badging on the trunk. I think this is USA specific as I've never seen a Euro car with this badge. I'm not a huge fan of that badge, the cleaner the car the better in my view. It is what it is though.

I can tell you that the first order of business when we recieve our GT S is to take off that hideous badge.

I'm with you 100%. I have to assume adding that badge was a Maserati North America decision. Is the belief out there that Americans place a priority of one-upmanship (however you spell that) and that badge proves that you have the "better" or "more expensive model"? The style of the GranTurismo is arguably one of the best designed cars in this decade and its my view that it doesn't need any tacky add on piece to show its the 4.7 and not the 4.2 version. The people that care about which model it is know about the visual differences between the two models without the need for a badge.

You've basically hit the nail on the head...as I understand it, the Italians and/or MNA think it's important to announce to the the world "4.7" which is even more tasteless than the "V8" badges they were slapping on the 4200. Silly marketers :)

A badgectomy is a must, that's an awful wart on an otherwise stunningly beautiful car.

The Gransport S will announce its presence every time you get aggressive with the throttle. It sounds like there is a bypass valve on the exhaust.

When it opens, it's louder than my coupe with Tubi.
