    Hi Guys,
The MSRP on a well dressed car is about $150K. There is to be only 300 for the USA. What is your opinion on how well it will hold it's value?

The Gran Turismo S is being built for 2009 only but without a significant improvement in performance I doubt it will retain it's value much better than the Gran Turismo.

It is a great car. Apparently vastly better than the standard car. I think the value of the car would be more determined by its being a great car than production being limited to 300. Alfa Romeo built 500 8Cs, then another 500 8C cabrios, and now maybe a lightweight version. Maserati could do the same with another variation of the Granturismo S, like a convertible that is also of limited production.

I wouldn't say the S is a vastly improved Gran Turismo, sure, it has more of an edge but that doesn't necessarily mean it's better.

Absolutely right Derek. I have owned my 2008 Granturismo for almost a year now and it really does fit the "advertised" slogan of being a comfortable daily driver. A few months ago, The Collection in Coral Gables had an S available for some test drives. I was invited down by salesman and spent 45 minutes alone in the car on an extended test. It is a fabulous car - but different, not better. As much as I found the extra HP exhilirating, I would not want the S as a daily driver. The seats were probably better for a day at the track, but not for a drive across Florida. As for holding value, I would have to agree johnei - low productions numbers alone do not dictate potential future value. Look at the Khamsin - only 421 units built and its value is nowhere near that of the Ghibli which had over 1,000 units built.

Just an FYI, I've heard from multiple sources that the order book for that 300 is virtually closed before the first one will be delivered in November. Thats not to say that you'll find one on the dealer floor, but the reaction to this car has been strong. If you want to order one to your specs, call the dealer now as they may be able to change some specs of uncommited ones that have already been ordered. As far as value, I too think that it might hold a hair better than the standard car, but it won't be Ferrari-like resale by any stretch. It does have a unique advantage in the glorious sounds it makes, virtually everyone thats heard it, loves it, and that will be a strong attraction to 2nd hand buyers because not much out there sounds nearly as good, except for the Alfa 8C and thats twice the cost.

This link is pretty good to watch some reviews http://worldtv.com/maseratigranturismostv/

TeamF1Jr is correct, we had a Gran Turismo S on loan from MNA for one week and invited interetsed parties to come take the car for a drive. Out of nine test drives that went on I accepted two deposits adding to the two we already had on the books. I think I'll be lucky if I get five of these cars. The GT S is awesome and I would love to own for myself but like I said before, I don't think it's nescessarily a "better" car than the Gran Turismo, just different :)
