Great service from Terry Hoyle Race Engineers

As a denizen of Essex, I didn't want the hassle of a trip into The Smoke to sort the misfire my car developed after the trip to Standford Hall...I knew about THRE and thought I'd give them a call.

Justin Platt bent over backwards to help me yesterday - very knowledgeable crowd too. So if you're in Essex and looking for a specialist who really knows what they're doing you could do a lot worse than use these guys - based in Maldon (and no, I'm not on commission).

Mouthwatering selection of cars in for work too - a couple of Colombo engined cars for starters ;-)

 

Terry Hoyle's no longer part of them as it happens - I'd certainly use Terry Dolphin to inspect a car - he really knows his stuff.

A misfire Andy, I detected it whilst waiting in the queue at Stanford Hall but thought it might be a plug fouling. It got worse on the way back - so bad that I had to let the man in the Bravo with a big exhaust past on the A14 (yes I know that's not the done thing and I openly apologise..OK?...it broke my heart).

THRE traced it to dodgy leads and gave the car a compression test too (healthy, I'm pleased to say). They told me off for not running it on 98 RON, especially given the spirited run on Sunday.

I'm sending the bill to Andy-H for encouraging me to keep up with him ;-)
