http://www.velocetoday.com/archives/12853 Teh author makes some disparaging "gold chain crowd" comments but as an owner of a less pristine 308GT4 it lets me go to the local C and C with some street cred. Not that I plan on going out in the rain. After all the car is still made from that crappy 70's Fiat and Alfa steel. No Pre-galv steel like the late 80's and later. Comments show that Mike makes sure the car is maintained well. Financial matters do set some priorities as to going for concourse condition over keeping the busy parts tuned and safe. Nice pictures of Arizona too. The carpeting looks familiar though my tan interior has taken on a strange brownish purple hue under the feet? Howard A.
I agree that even a poor condition 308GTB is still more attractive than 99.99% of the other cars on the raod, but I'm not sure exactly what the point of the story is. He wanted to fix up the car but can't afford to. That's not exactly news worthy. If he was driving it in poor condition, because that is what he really wanted to do, it would be much more of a story. And, where is his wife that wanted the car? I wonder what her opinion is now with a rebuilt gearbox and motor?
The author said nothing about gold chains some duche posting his thoughts about the article said that crap.
