Just spent lusting over historical pics on here https://supercarnostalgia.com/index-car-spotting-street-spots Love it, nabbed from another site. Enjoy!
So, more time spent looking this AM. There are a lot of Miura and Countach and other great cars. I hope our experts (Joe, Raymond, Robert W and others) will chime in with more info. Some unusual examples, two cars with the front wing. The pinstripe Countach. Loving the example with the flag mirrors with the bright yellow writing visible. A Countach with the radio aerial on the front wing! Crazy but it was the 1980's!
Yes! #MakePinkGreatAgain . . . . . Some cars I've not seen for sure. Love this https://supercarnostalgia.com/blog/lamborghini-countach-lp400-s-chassis-1121130?rq=pimp Countach. Choice of Germany's discerning 1980's pimps . . .
I remember being young and the pink Countach was having some work being done at Prancing Horse Garages, they were painting my Dad's Dino at the time and I think this was the first Countach I had seen.
I was fortunate to be living the dream from 1987 onwards as a Countach owner and I recall seeing most of the cars in that archive.
In 1987 I was 16, so alas, not quite an owner yet Certainly a good resource and a lot of the cars, non Lambo ones too, are interesting. Love period shots and looking back. Not just the cars but the fashion too!
Supercar Nostalgia has literally thousands of cars in it. There are photos of many cars I had never seen photos of, so it is an amazing site and I hope it keeps delivering new material. Like all sites and sources of information it isn’t 100% accurate, but it would be impossible to be accurate when it covers such a vast scope of material. Joe - there is no way you can recall “seeing most of the cars in that archive” - Supercar Nostalgia has just too many for anyone to remember even most of them. BTW don’t use any photos from there without permission, even if you credit the site, it’s author gets shirty, but if you ask him in advance he claims to normally grant permission.
You are right, I noticed a number of information inaccuracies, but still it's good to have the archive. I should have clarified, I recall seeing most of the cars in the archive from 1986 to 1990, I literally do as I was always at Portman's Service Center, Castle Combe, Goodwood, Club events etc, in other words wherever there were Countachs, I tried to be there. I was obviously obsessed with the Countach and became a Countach-spotter, and then an owner. Unfortunately I didn't photo-document much in those days, I just liked to see them, that said I'm blessed with a good memory, and I've long since mended my ways about photo-documentation. You are also right about image credits.
