    I am planning to visit Greece with my wife next May for 18-20 days, and looking for suggestions on where to stay and what to do. I'm not a fan of just staying in 5 star hotels since they all seem the same no matter where you go. I also don't want to "visit the world" in 3 weeks, preferring just to visit 2-3 places and take time to enjoy them.

    I was also thinking of renting a villa for 5-7 days of the stay, and this island was recommended: http://www.exclusiveescapes.co.uk/destinations/type/cephalonia_home/

    Hoping to stay around $25k for lodging.

    Anyone have a recommendation?

    Lucky you, the island are my favourite destination!!

    There are so many to choose from and all different in their own way. I don't recall there being many (any) 5 star hotels, and the facilities can be quite basic.

    You may want to think about whether you are looking for a tourist destination or somewhere more peaceful. Bear in mind that the tourist destinations can be quite boisterous.

    Personally, I like island hopping. My favourite island so far is Syros.

    Corfu is a beautiful place to spend time in.

    Mykonos is one big party. Ios is an even bigger party.

    I've heard Santorini is great for couples, but never been.

    I'm sure you'll enjoy wherever you go. They're all pretty nice.

    Santorini is simply stunning.

    The only island that I didn't care for was Crete (far too large).

    mykonos is a mainly gay destination, since you said you had a wife you probably want to pass on mykonos.

    Thanks for the replies, my wife has been to Santorini and wants to go back, so that will be one of our stops.

    Looking for more peaceful over party.

    Any "you have to see" or "whatever you do, don't...."?
