How do you know it was a digital camera? Why would a person adjust the color balance if they were taking a few shots of the interior? I'm not concerned, I'm curious and the car is not just around the corner for me so I guess I'll pass on viewing it. I did learn from some other posters, that yes indeed, the two guages are subject to more fading at least on some cars.

40 grand seems cheap to me whatever colour.

Recommend you stick to your nickname though.........not very many yellow around.

If you are thinking about "getting rid" of a car, while you are buying it........... I would recommend that you buy something that gives you more of an emotional charge.

This is not a house, or a mutual fund, its a TOY! You buy it because you can afford it, and it gives you the exhilaration to justify it. If green moves you, BUY IT! DRIVE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT! (where have I heard that before?) Have lots of OOHS and AHHS, and thumbs up, and when you are ready to move on, if you get a penny for it, its gotta have been worth it. If its not............. no color is worth the money.

just my humble opinion, btw I kinda like the green,

I don't know it was digital. But I do know that the auto color balance on cameras seem to give different results per shot. For example, I have a few shots with my digital camera where my car is more orange than red.

I don't know if that is true for the photo, but I guess my point is that I'd ask the seller, or see it in person, before getting mad about it.

The whole purpose of auto color balance is to reduce/eliminate color changes. However, I can say that sometimes shots of my car come out orange-ish also.

IF the seller changed instrument panels to show a lower mileage there would not be much point in asking him/her because you would no doubt not get the truth. Seeing it in person would also not tell me if the instrument panel was changed. It would only tell me that the intensity of orange on all guages is the same or is not the same. I have since learned that it is not uncommon for the two sets of guages to be faded to different degrees.

Finally, you must have misunderstood what I wrote. I was not mad. Why should I be? I am not in the market for a 348 and quite frankly even if the mileage is not as low as shown it seems like a good price for the car (as long as the mileage is not super high, in reality). The green body color is not bad looking to me either.

I was simply trying to point out to prospective buyers something that nobody else mentioned. It was the first thing that "jumped out" at me. Just something to consider, investigate or even ask about just as I did. Everybody tends to look at bolster wear, pedal cover wear (easily replaced with new or new-ish parts) etc.

Thanks for all the comments, folks!

I'm really thinking about making the switch. I'll pull into RTGT this weekend and talk about putting my 308 up for sale on consignment.

I've never seen a 348 in real life, though. Any nice F-chatters in Portland want to show off theirs? No need to get behind the wheel, but I'd really appreciate a ride. :)

If you like 'British Racing Green' what the heck, it's your car. seemed to be a popular color for Lotus and Jaguar. Just heed the opinions and conditions of those previously stated, resale value, etc. One thing cool is it's unique, a definite conversation starter.

+1. We know it's not a $39K car, because no sale.

Probably lighting, but they did say the front bumper had been resprayed. (I think my front bumper has been done 3 times over the last 20 years... not a surprise.)

Giallo, hang on to your 308. You will be kicking yourelf in a year or two.

There is some thought that green is a bad luck color for Ferrari. This apparently goes back to the early days of Grand Prix racing. I don't know if there is any truth to this story, but thought it was interesting. I also heard Bob Smith of "Coachworks" say he would not work on green Ferrari's anymore because of bad luck he has had with that color cars. I personally like the looks of this car.

No, not yet. I'm a real slow mover. :)

Hey, I love my 308. This was the first time I realized I wanted to trade up! I kind of have to come to terms with that - it'll be hard letting my first Ferrari go...
