Matthew Groner posted (t)his photo on Facebook, and I tried determining the color. It seems to most closely resemble Glasurit's Verde Inglese FER 606. But, obviously, Ferrari doesn't use Glasurit anymore. So does PPG make a color similar to Glasurit's Verde Inglese? Or is it more likely that this car was liveried in an out-of-range color? If the owner happens to see this thread, please chime in - I think it's a fantastic looking car, and I'd love to know the exact color.

That is a perfect colour choice. There is verde british under the historical colours and verde racing under the special colours in the online configurator.

I assume it's a non-metallic green? Back in the days of the 360, 550, etc there were two shades of green available, I think from the standard range but if in anyway special, not so expensive as today's specials. British Racing Green was the dark, non-metallic and Verde Zeltweg was the metallic, a bit lighter.

This one you post would easily look like BRG.

Does look like BRG. The color and the dark wheels make it quite sporty.

    Awesome, thank you.

    What about Verde Silverstone?

    I agree!

not much of a fan either. the car is so big and darker colors seem to accentuate the size.

the driver looks positively tiny in the car!!!

A GTO owner on this forum, I don't remember his name, just the quote.

And I perfectly agree with this. This FF owner is probably wealthy and doesn't give a F.... about resale value.

I wanted it green and got it green.

What about it? I don't recall such color being part of the range in the last 15 years or so. But then again I'm no historian.

Definitely true. I guess it depends on whether you are going to get rid of the car in 6-12 months or enjoy it for a number of years.

    Hi, Rodolfo...

I only mentioned Verde Silverstone because I was looking through pictures of '90s Ferraris in an attempt to find a shade of green that most closely resembled that of the FF in the original picture.

Through Italver, Duco, Max Meyer, Glidden Salchi, Glasurit, and PPG, Ferrari has released dozens of different shades of green paint. Glasurit discontinued their version of Verde Silverstone in April, 1997 - less than a month after PPG's Verde Zeltweg was introduced (and, to my knowledge, still a part of the current color range).

But it's not unheard of for some people to pay extra to have a car painted in a color that's no longer offered in Ferrari's current lineup of paints. In fact, it occurred often enough that Ferrari introduced a "retro" line of paint choices, offering colors that were available back in the '50s. So, while it's unlikely, it wouldn't surprise me if the person who ordered this FF requested it be painted in an older, out-of-range shade of green.

thats fine. to each his own. i am not too good at selling either. but my statement holds - good luck getting 90% of market value whenever it gets sold. personally, i would see it as an opportunity to get in cheap since you can always wrap it.

    This:
has always made sense to me, for two reasons: one, like you said, you can get a perfectly good car at a cheaper price, and; two, wrapping the car, in any color/style/pattern of your choosing allows you to protect the factory paint while simultaneously expressing your personal preference for the car without diminishing it's value by even a cent.

Hey Carbon, as per current and recent online configurators, two shades of green are available for the FF, Verde British and Verde Racing, which add quite a lot to the confusion. British is under historic colours and Racing under special colours. I believe British could be our well-known BRG and Racing is maybe the former Zeltweg or a slight variation... I also believe the online configurator is not to be trusted 100%...

    I agree!

I'm also confused by the two greens currently offered: Verde British and Verde Racing? It sounds like a single color (Verde British Racing) split into two colors. PPG introduced Verde British Racing in 1997; the only other shade of green offered by PPG, that I know of, is, as you already mentioned, Verde Zeltweg, also introduced in 1997. If Zeltweg was discontinued, I'd like to know when, and what, if anything, took its place.
