Hi everyone, my name is Peter Tommasini and I am new to this site. I was born in Padova, Italy and migrated to Australia with my parents in 1970 at the age of 15. As an Italian I have naturally always been passionate about ferraris. Unfortunately I dont own one yet.
As a child in Italy I walked past a coachbuilding shop on my way to school. At the time I did not realise they were actually working on Ferrari GTOs. Seeing the workers building those aluminium bodies fascinated me and after many years I have honed my panel fabrication skills here in Australia and built a business which specialises in panel fabrication for prestige, vintage, veteran and classic cars. I have recently been asked to build a
1957 Ferrari 250 GT Boano. The car was stripped in England and then shipped to Australia in bits. All I have to work with is a chassis, suspension and literally boxes of bits and pieces.
We also have an engine and gearbox with all matching numbers. So obviously my next question is can anyone please direct me to a website or someone ( I am prepared to travel ) who can give me useful information, patterns, profiles or specifications to build a buck for the body construction. Although I have previously made bucks and built bodies to scale from photos it would obviously be preferable to be able to see an actual car and take patterns, measurement and profiles in order to hand build an accurate body. Again any help would be greatly appreciate. For more information about me by website is www.handbuilt.net.au. Cheers from downunder, Peter Tommasini
