I recently bought a 1975 two tone red/black. Currently having work done to it! It came fitted with 17 inch wheels. The issue is that they rub inside the fender. I was going to buy some 16 inch wheels that I know will fit and thought that I want to stay with 17s as I like the stance. Does anyone know what wheels in 17 inch will fit The 308GT4 without any modifications? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

I would go with a set of these (16" Superformance replicas with 7" (205/55) fronts and 8" (225/50) rears):

On my Series 1 GT4 the stock wheels with stock-sized Pirelli tires rubbed the front. I think more than tire and wheel size, maybe paying attention to total diameter is a better indication of what would fit.
Later cars had a relief molded into the wheel well to clear the tires, but I'm not sure at what point that started.

My car came to me with 16" Compomotives which fill out the wheel openings nicely without any issues. Your car seems to have a large gap above the tires, GT4 bodies usually are pretty tight around the wheels especially at the front even with the original 14" wheels. Do you have coilovers?

It's not the diameter of the wheel that's the issue, but the overall width and offset of the wheel and tyre. I assume you mean it rubs at the front as you put lock on the steering?

With 16" wheels and 205/55 at the front (which is the same as the P7 factory option) you can still get some rubbing at full lock.

Finally made it by the shot to discuss with Ferrari tech and found out that my car does have adjustable coilovers!

Yes this. As long as you have the correct offset and the right tire size you shouldn’t have any problem.
Maybe Kurtis can share the offset of his Compomotive and the tire size he’s using.

I have no idea what the offset is on my HRE’s? I do have one wheel off the car so I’ll let y’all know the info tomorrow. As best as I can figure anyway. ;)

Looks like a 34mm positive offset.
Tires are 235/45/17 pirelli SS P7000.
    Same on all 4 corners.
