Hi: My name is Charles and I bought birdman's '83 Mondial QV. The sale went very smoothly and it was evident that Jonathan is as honest as he is passionate about these cars. I took delivery of the car last week after having to navigate the convoluted process which is the Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles. I was unprepared for the next several days: I would find any excuse to drive it. When I wasn't driving it, I was staring at it, reading about it, or working on it. Last weekend was like 24 hours at LeMans (more from the endurance standpoint, I've mostly been driving conservatively as I want the experience to last). I went without sleep and food. The issues with the car are minor and mostly of little consequence. It's clear that Jonathan had some work cut out for him when he bought the car, but it is presently in a state where I can focus more on preventive maintenance and small improvements. This is my first Ferrari. I've owned a few interesting cars, but the notion of a grand tourer led me to this. I have absolutely no regrets. I'll close by just mentioning some of the ideas I've distilled from my short experience: 1. While driving this car, there is not one instant in which you be unaware that you're in a Ferrari. There aren't a whole lot of cars one can say this about. 2. Drive it for a week and you'll hate your daily driver! 3. When you finally get in one of your other cars, be prepared to be doing a lot of unexpected 2nd gear take-offs. Anyway, I'm delighted with this car. I don't expect to ever sell it, though I can see adding to the stable. Best Regards, Charles
Welcome to Fchat. The feeling you descride hasn't worn off me yet and I've had my 328 for just over 1 year. In fact I just got back from a nice drive in the country after a long hot day in the yard. What a great feeling to be able to go to the garge hop in the Ferrari and enjoy!!!
