Hi all, Any chance someone has a formula for the old 60's-70's paint Grigio Ferro. I'd prefer a Dupont/Axalta but anything will help. My paint is 37 years old so probably faded. thanks, Derek
There's something for Glasurit paints. Disclaimer You find it with the Advanced Search Best Martin Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice that you found that color. I've been looking for Avorio Safari 20-y-546 and it's nowhere to be found.
Because Avorio Safari is a Glidden Salchi color (and previously PPG/Italver). Glasurit didn't do that color.
Yes I know but when looking for a x ref color one cant look for salchi. I found a Safari Ivory Fiat color number 285 may be the same one
Did you car ever been paint in Avorio Safari before ? There is plenty of place on the car where the original color is not altered by the age. In that case, you should make a paint sample with the 285 from PPG: Fiat Color Codes - 285 model/year code 285 Cross-Reference I personally find it more dark and yellow than the picture I may have seen from Avorio Safari car, but it is very hard to judge a color from a screen sample. It has to be compare with a sample made by your body work. I think PPG formula will be easier to find by him than the Glidden Salchi'.
Yes I purchased it 16 yrs ago as Avorio. And I feel the same way with the screen shot that it looks to dark. I'm glad for the xref to log thank you. Every little bit of info helps.
Btw tripleblack, when and if I do find an area of the car with the Avorio,I hope it's a panel that can be removed so I can have it scanned. The car is in hundreds of pieces with engine out right now!
I guess, the best is to arrange a scan of ItalianOne GT4.... Otherwise, the inside of the door is body color as the inside of the rear panel where the lights are (but not with the same glossy finish). If the car is already disassembly, you should be able to find a correct piece no ?
Well I have pmd Italianone and 308nut multiple times with no reply. And the innermost parts of the doors are undercoated. This car had a 80% bare metal in 2001 so until I start stripping paint with like 320 or 400 in areas then I should find an area to scan. Hopefully in an area of the car that can be brought in to scan. My biggest problem is body shop thieves that make a big deal out of every little thing and won't give me a specific price just an hourly rate.
For anyone wanting an Axalta Cromax Mosaic formula for Grigio Ferro 106-E-8, here it is. This took a computer scan of the side of my light pods plus a few rounds of adjustment after test spraying.
