I did a search and found a nice array of pics of various cars in this color. To my eye, this color is best suited to smaller 355/360 size cars, but this is quite personal. My question is this, for people who own or have owned cars this color, how is it to live with. For instance, I love black cars but there are times after a short drive where it seems such a pain that the car is so dirty so quickly. I had a red car(not a ferrari) where after a wash and wax, the car was gorgeous, but in between, I would feel tired of it and it seemed washed out. Anyway, looking for that kind of feedback from owners. thanks, John

The 612 looks amazing in grigio Ingrid. That C&D test against the DB9, CL600 and VW Conti GT had a ingrid 612 .

i have a 360 that is grigio ingrid with a sabbia interior (a light sand color). the color is great as it hides dirt and general road debris, as opposed to black that looks dirty once it has been on the road for a short peiod of time. i had a black 308 that always looked dirty no matter how long it had been since it was washed. you don't have that problem with grigio ingrid.

i personally like the fact that it doesn't scream "look at me" the way red and yellow do. it is a color that i have never seen a photo do justice to. the color must be seen in person to truely like it.

That picture really illustrates just how huge the 360 is...

Isn't it time we had a smaller Ferrari model again?

i don't know if it shows how large the 360 is, or rather, how small the dino is. the dino is a very tiny car. that is what makes it so fun to drive because it is very nimble and well balanced. the dino is like a high powered go-kart. the 360, on the other hand, is a much different car.

Thanks to the idiotic horsepower wars, we're not likely to see a new sensibly powered, Dino-sized Ferrari any time soon. Too bad. Max speed is meaningless to me. I'd much rather enjoy the tossability which comes from small size, small mass and much smaller inertia. My initial reaction when I picked up my 360 was "man this thing is HUGE!". Hugeness is not something I want in a sports car (I'm doing my best to enjoy my 360 anyway. :)).

Thanks for the new pic. They're both beautiful cars!

sorry for the duplications. these photos were taken inside under flourescent lights. the lighting creates a differnt color under overcast or sun light.

Sounds like you really should consider a Lotus Elise. I've never been a fan of micro-minis, but this may be the perfect match for your tastes.

Funny you mention that -- I've thought about it! It'd make a great run-about. It certainly has the benefit of small size, low mass, and freedom from electronic nannies going for it. Even the Toyota engine is a plus because they'll probably have lots of TRD stuff for it fairly soon.

It'd be nice if Ferrari would offer a model in this size/weight range. Fat chance, I'm afraid. I'll probably wait til the second model year before seriously considering an Elise though. They might even be readily available by then.

You're right, I would be surprised to see Ferrari in this market. The Elise really is a barrel of fun if the size doesn't bother you.

I too really enjoy and appreciate smaller tossable cars. I just read that there is a new design Elise set for 06. Larger, more power and more features. Looks a lot better too, imo.

PS, in light of the pics posted here, I retract my stated opinion that g.i. does not look good on the larger cars. It seems to look great on all sizes. I've always preferred dark color cars but my last three have been silver or metallic grays and I have really enjoyed and appreciated the ease of maintanance.

I don't like the "larger, more power, more features" part. This is the slippery slope which leads to the monstrosities which pass for "sports cars" these days. However, in Lotus's case, this is being forced upon them by US safety regs. Apparently their temporary front bumper exemption expires in 06.

I agree with you about the Elise's funky design -- not quite what I would choose. But it's currently the only show in town. I'm hoping black will tone down most of the weirdness. It's a small price to pay for a genuine sports car driving experience, unadulterated by who knows how many layers of software found in just about everything else.

Sorry for going OT again -- just wanted to respond.

911Fan -- These photos are for you.....it is, in deed, a blast to drive. :D I've heard the new '06 will be several hundred pounds heavier -- that's not good. ;)
