I was planning on doing my 206 Grigio Ferro Metallizzato until I found out from Mathias that the color was introduced on later cars. Two 206's came in Grigio Notte Metallizzato so I'm considering that color. Has anyone done a spray out of that color?? Any help would be appreciated.

Too bad - Grigio Ferro is beautiful; it was my second choice for the resto, behind the Blu Sera.

The other is suppose to be similar, so I'll see if I can get something to compare.

Interesting. My "L" series was originally Grigio Ferro Metallizzato. Had I kept the car, my plan was to return it to that color someday. Perhaps the next owner will choose to do the same.

Great choice Jon - very classy.

I did not have the actual paint code - just something that said Metallic Grey. My bad.

    Thanks Matthias.

Wow, what a gorgeous color! Would be interesting to play with different interior colors such as dark red leather, orange leather etc.

It's hard to tell from the photos how dark it is. Two 206's were delivered in that color.

Just based on what I can see in the photos supplied by Iain, it looks quite dark when the light is low but then when there is sun to reflect of the metallic specs in the paint, it really lightens up.

It's kind of the best of both worlds.

Scroll three quarters of the way down on the following page of Tom Yang's website where he has displayed a Carrozzerie Scaglietti paint chip book from the 275 era. You can see the Grigio Notte Metallizzato name, paint code (106-E-28) and color sample.

The following link has images of a Ferrari 250 GTE currently for sale which is reportedly painted in Grigio Notte Metallizzato

With a name that includes "Notte" (night), chances are good that it's pretty dark.

...and that it is lurking in the shadows, will sneak up behind you and will steal your wallet.

Once again, I love that color. You have my approval ;-)

That looks really good! Almost like Porsche Seal Grey. It doesn't look quite so dark in these photos.

Looks amazing in the rear shot - nice contrast with the colors of the tail lights and chrome.

I went round and round with Glasurit to get the color right on my Verde Medio GTS. One key component was using the finest metallics they had.

You are right. This spray out does not have the proper metallic in it yet!

Agreed! In 1994, while attempting to match the Blu Sera on my GT, the right metallic grain was proving elusive. A rep. from ICI in Toronto took my gas cap back to his facility and came up with a perfect formula, which was used to mix the paint for my car. If the grain is too large, the color will not look right. Fred

Autosport Design had a car in this color a couple of years back. It is a pretty cool looking color.

I am very surprised to see it on any early Dino.

With that being said, I think it will look really awesome and make the Chrome POP.

If you did the exterior in this color, what interior color are you considering?

I think this would look AWESOME!

Were there any Notte 206's with Two-Tone interior's?

I think this exterior, with a Black seat and Red, Cloth inserts would be super cool.

There were 2 206's in Grigio Notte. I'm sure Mathias could tell us the interiors. All the 206's I've seen have been Black vinyl total or the seat material center in the material that looks like terry cloth and snags easily. I thought about doing cloth inserts but wanted a little more pop in the whole interior so I opted out on the cloth. All trim is Dino Black Vinyl. The seat inserts, door panels, and rear panel are dark red and carpet is original style charcoal. The interior has been done for some time but I kept putting the body off as I put other jobs in front. It is now to be painted after your! I'm getting another spray out tomorrow with super fine metallic.

I thought Grigo Ferro was in the Ferrari paint line up during the 60's?
