My body shop is having issues matching grigio titanio on my 2000 360. I have rear diffuser and aftermarket bumper ready to shoot but having a hard time to match it with oem color. Anybody else face the same issue? Any suggestions? Thanks

A good paint mixer will be able to blend a custom colour based on a sample - I usually take in the fuel flap.

Else, your bodyshop will be able to lose the colour change by blending the paint in on the adjacent panels.

My 360 is the same color code......

Last year I had my front bumper repainted. I dropped the bumper off with the trunk lid to help with the paint match.

Specifically looked for a body shop that advertised PPG paint like the paint code on the 360's trunk lid. In hindsight I should have asked the dealer for a recommendation.

    Anyway..........

While it looked great inside the shop, in the bright sun it was waaayyy off. Looked like a two tone paint job.

    They agreed & repainted it.

Looks like a hard color to match, plus depends on the material it's applied on ( bumpers & side skirts or main body ).

So, my advice, check it under the bright sun before you take it home.

gray is a hard color to match. to get it 100% match, blending is a must. a good shop can get it 90-95% match without blending. you will tell it's a little off though

It is very difficult to match these complex greys. The metallic whites are even worse.

It even makes a big difference on the orientation of the spray gun when spraying as this will effect how the metal flake paricles lie in the paint.

Same problem with simple Rosso. Had a small paint job done on the car and the guy used the Ferrari paint code to mix. It was way off. Had to special mix it.

It wouldn't be too noticeable if I had to paint something small. But have to paint front bumper diffuser and side skirts. Getting a little frustrated but I guess im not te only one having same type of issue.

I had the same issue when getting my side skirts repainted. They had to repaint them twice. Looked fine in the shop but was horrible in natural light. The only way they got it to match was to blend and mix and test until it was a match.

Bottom Line... A 'Good Shop' should be able to match this color.

I had my front bumper replaced and painted grigio titanio using my gas filler cover and it came out 100% perfect. The painter, Robert Appel, in Manassas, VA is the expert!!!!!!

Many shops 'just don't have' the expertise to do this, or they think 'close' is good enough.

    Good luck with your car.

Make sure you give them the PPG code of 36801 and not just the old Glasurit code of FER 3238. They should be able to match it from that. Here is a PPG color chart from 2003. Codes are the same for Grigio Titanio from 1999-2004, which should cover you.

Metallic is a ***** to match. Never be 100%
