Guys, what is the ground clearance like in a 575? I plan to use one as a daily driver in NYC in and out of parking garages. So was concerned about ramp inclines and pot holes.

Mark I have not experienced any problems with my 575. It seems to handle the rough and tumble roads of LIE,BQE,FDR etc much better than I anticipated. Avoid the dreaded belt pkwy at any and all cost if you have to travel out of Manhattan. Coming in and out of garages I usually try to come out on an angle as opposed to straight out which alleviates most under carriage scrapes.

Good luck to you. Not only is ground clearance a challenge, but your wheels will not like the potholes. Set aside some money to replace at least one wheel per year.

Mark- I had five Z06 Corvettes and every one of them scraped on my driveway. My 575M has never scraped, so ground clearance is pretty good, and better than the 550 because of the front bumper/spoiler shape.

The distance from the front wheel to the front of the car is what determine the clearance as much as the ground clearance itself. So, be careful...

I have a 550, and the only problems I've encountered in Manhattan are the high inclines of driveways/garage entries and exits (approach at an angle) and the space needed to open the relatively long doors when you're in a self-park garage. Sometimes it's hard to get out/in the car once you're parked. Regards, Frank

I would not risk it. A Defender or H1 would be better for Manhattan.

+1. You will scrap/high center when going in and out of steep garages in the city. Also be careful of potholes and/or raised manhole covers, but if you drive often in the city you pretty much have most of the potholes "memorized".

I had same problem with 456M-6 and fixed it with a Cayenne GTS-6.

Immensely different high-torque gearing is built to tow 7700lbs, but once you're used to it, you can ride the 405hp like a waterproof log-flume thru rapids.

So fun it makes for spontaneous laughter.

The coupe is like listening to a symphony.

The GTS is like listening to a rock band. Heavy-Metal when on "Sport" setting.

Yes, the 456M is incomparably better fun when the streets are as flat as Florida.

You can't compare the two, but it fixed my ride-height problem overnight.

Luckily, the 575 has way less problems with scraping than the 550. So much so that one 550 owner mounted a 575M bumper to his 550 to alleviate the scraping he was getting.

    Mark,
Didnt Algar just perform the 30k service before you took delivery of the 575?

What are your impressions of the car?
It certainly looked nice on the showroom floor but I didnt look it over with a "buyers" eye

Mark had Algar do a 30k, coolant hoses, and clutch.

We are installing resonator delete pipes, clear film, and some minor touch ups.

The car is very nice to drive, nothing like any of the V8 Ferrari's that I have had, much more torque. I have the Tubi mufflers on it but I thought it could do with a bit more sound so Dan at Bradan is putting on the straight pipes which I'm very excited about!
