oh...i want this car. i want this car. i really want this car!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i have fond memories of every tullius car...
I had a tr8 convt from 1980 to 1990 and loved it. Was an unbelievable car for its time. Suprised it never caught on as a vintage sport car. Racer should be awesome though
Same here, I have so much history with that car it's a real shame that I sold it (81-03). I even took it to the Netherlands with me for my three-year assignment and, in 1985, it was the only known TR8 on the European continent. Anyway, that was chapters ago and in the near future I plan on building one of these (as shown in the photo): http://www.lanocharacing.com/ Image Unavailable, Please Login
BTW, one of the Group 44 IMSA GTP cars remains available through Canepa and Fantasy Junction... http://www.canepacollection.com/detail-1984-jaguar-xjr~5-imsa_gtp-used-5792896.html http://fantasyjunction.com/cars/1016-Jaguar-XJR-5-6.2%20Litre%2012-Cylinder Bob's an interesting character. We cross paths now and again, but he's gotten more into warbirds. I really enjoy seeing his handiwork, though. These cars are well-thought out and put together. I'd love to see Jag come back, and I wonder if Tata has plans. The Paul Gentilozzi cars aside, I'd love to see a Jag in ALMS Prototypes. CW
Wade, You might be interested to know that Bob is the featured guest of this month's Mirror Lake Concours in Lakeland, Fl. He has a museum located by the Sebring Airport, so there's a chance some Group 44 cars will be on display at the concours, Saturday, October 15th. It's not a huge show as entries are capped at 125, with car club corrals located on the periphery. Beautiful setting as well! KevFla
That's awesome, thanks Kevin. I will be there! Here are two pictures that I took at Mid-Ohio's 40 Years of Triumph event in June of 1992. FYI, the silver car behind the Group 44 racer is the very last TR8 produced. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
