I got mine on ebay from Canada. I assume it's the same source but not certain. Took way too long to ship and came up with many excuses why they didn't go out in a timely matter, "played dumb" at times (I believe). I thought `shipping cost was a bit excessive too. Other than that, the parts seem quite okay and as advertised but I have yet to install them. who is Jaime? also, i think most of us would be in on a group for some of the other CF interior parts. does anyone know of a source for brushed aluminum interior for us old fashion types
Hi all. I just shot an email to one of Ferrari Chat's sponsors "Ferraricarbon" to see if they'd be interested in a group buy of their carbon fiber sills. Their website: http://www.powerspeed.com.au/carbonsp/ Their product page: http://www.ferraricarbon.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2&products_id=49 I'll let you know when / if I get a reply JD
OK... got a reply.... Now to gauge actual interest and intent to purchase. How many we order will effect the pricing and current dollar to yen will effect the price as well. Another factor that can keep the pricing low is if we centralize shipping...i.e. having all the sills shipped to one US location and them reship them, that is IF it will be to a US adress. I have only contacted this one forum sponsor / vendor. If anyone else wants to try to contact the others (I believe McCarbon and Valence) go ahead and see what pricing we can get and if they're willing to consider a group buy. Just for grins, if anyone wants to check my eBay feedback, feel free... eBay moniker is: Jeff-Davison Jeff Davison Here's the reply I recieved: Hi Jeffery, Thank you very much for your inquiry. We are willing to cooperate with your idea in some way. Only problem for us is current exchange rate that is weak US dollars against Japanese yen. It was 120-130 JPY for one USD now around 90 JPY. However, we will do our best to meat your expectation to embattle the current sluggish ecnomay together. Please provide us your wish list with order amount and we will give you the preliminary quotation. Our price in our web shop includes the air fare to US. If we can send them to one destination, we can can save the shipping cost as well. Awaiting your reply. Best Regards Koji Aoki
ok brotherhood, chime in if you are interested and what you are interested in... lip spoiler from Valence CF door sill...or any CF part I think Ferrari carbon has better prices than MA... since the CF pieces are expensive maybe we can order them in stages. 1 set per month to make it easier
so far looking at the posts there are 7 peeps that want the c.f. sills. I'll keep tabs on this thread till Monday and see what the count is before I appoach the vendor again to give him harder numbers. JD
That's 9 pair so far. Monday night I'll take another total, then email the vendor with that number and see what he can do. Jeff Davison
JD, For the Brushed Stainless. You will post when you get a price on the CF stuff as I am interested it that as well if the price is right
OK guys.... here's what's happening. Ferrari Carbon agreed to some pretty nice pricing, but there are some conditions. The number of pairs I told him were 9 pairs (as that was the count when I wrote him originally). His rock bottom price for 9 pair is $480 per pair plus $270 shipping for all 9 pair to one location here in the US. That breaks down to $510 per pair for us individualy. Bear in mind that we have to designate a group buy "Handler". Ferrari Carbon requests that payment for all the sills be sent direct to their bank account via a money transfer at the same time. The handler would need to recieve all the funds from the purchasers in order to proceed with the order. Once recieved, Ferrari Carbon would ship the sills to that person in the US. The group buy "Handler" would then have to reship the individual sill pairs to the individuals who ordered them once he recieves them from Ferrari Carbon, and I will assume that this "domestic" shipping charge be paid for by the purchaser to be paid to the "Handler" (I will further assume the handler will only want actual USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. shipping cost as the handler is one of us who got a smokin deal). So we must designate a trustworthy "Handler" from amongst us. Volunteers? Nominations? Just a further note and I sent the number to Ferrari Carbon. I think we're up to 11 here that said they wanted a pair. I'll let you know if there's a further price break, but for now the above $ numbers are what we'll work with for our comitment. Here's the list from this thread that expressed desire: jeffdavison CaptnGlen potxoli F355Bvc MWhitesell 50hdmc DonJuan348 Troomi MJ_duell FBI Albert328gts Any More? I told Koji (Ferrari Carbon) I would get back to him and let him know if his proposal was acceptable by us. Let me know! Jeff Davison
Just a thought, would Daniel be interested in being the handler and maybe getting a few more to stock (assuming ferrari carbon was OK with that?) I'd feel very comfortable giving daniel my money and he seems to deal with this kind of thing all day long. In fact, I'd be willing to pay a premium for his handling of it so that there is some profit in it for him obviously. BTW, would it make sense to move this discussion to a thread called "carbon door sills group buy?"
Making an assumption here that Daniel at Ricambi would not be interested as he sell's his own outsourced sill,( http://www.ricambiamerica.com/product_info.php?products_id=263907 ), so there'd be a conflict and nothing in it for him (as a business person). A premium handling charge would most likely get the price of the sills back to the retail level making a group buy not worth the effort...and after all saving some real money is the purpose of the group buy, ands a sale of a group buy sill would mean a non sale of a Ricambi sourced sill. Daniel would be selling his competitors product. I know that F355Bvc and Mwhitesell can vouch for me (if I volunteer). They're both local to me and know me. I am the club treasurer for the Atlanta Fiat/Lancia Club and I handle the all the money from our all Italian "Atlanta Italian Car Day" show we put on. Also I put my eBay handle up earlier if anyone wants to check my feedback there (mostly as a buyer). here it is again: Jeff-Davison Jeff Davison
I am ok with JD. See if he would do $500.00 a pair with shipping to 1 location and I am in Maybe we will get a few more orders We should start a new thread for this Thanks JD for all the work. Captglen
I'll wait a bit and see what he says to 11. But as things stand, he's pretty firm with the price and it really a good price, really don't want to nickel and dime him.
ok.. per request and to keep things un-confused... new thread time: http://ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=266860
