    The owner of KV racing, the team associated with Lotus' return to Indy,owns Cosworth, so it's a guess that the 'Lotus' Indy engine will be a re-badged Cosworth.

    This is wonderful news. Three engines in the IRL. Seems like the manufacturers are gettiing behind the already very competitive series. Including title sponsor Izod.

    Hopefully this is the resurgence of USA open wheeled racing.

    I sincerelly hope so!!

    You wouldn't have seen me crossing the Atlantic to watch just another specs series, but the future IRL may revive my passion for Indy.


    The pre-CART, pre-IRL USSAC series used to be my favourite. And it gave us such champions!!

    This car looks like utter garbage. Another example of function over form - F1 cars, Funny Cars, and now Indy Cars - all once a thing of beauty now look like some 7 year olds poorly drawn nightmare.

    Bring back the Reynards of the 1990's CART era...

    It certainly appears Indy Car is making strides to
    improve their show.

    There must be something more relevant going on there
    to capture attention if sponsors, media, fans, etc. leading
    up to the 100th Indy 500.

    So, conjoiring up memories of the past helps. Penske
    is working behind the scenes obviously so things are
    reverting back to pre-split days. Rumors suggest some
    current well-known GrandAM DP teams are being courted
    to make the jump over to Indy as well. Get the vuvuzellas
    ready.

    While I am glad to see Indy Car getting more engines and chassis the series will still be a joke until Brian Barnhart is banned from the track.

    Remember Helio getting hosed at Edmonton?

    +1000. All the momentum they have been building and great racing they might have will be stifled by a guy who has no clue about racing. I have to think/hope that his time is running out since all his previous supporters are now gone from management positions.

    I'd like to see the Lotus with numbers 82 & 83 as a nod to the very successful results of 1st (Jimmy Clark) and 7th (Bobby John's in a very tuned down car).
