Luckily I did not get bitten, but I have to gripe. I'm trying to sell my laptop, a very high-end graphic/gaming notebook, which you can see here:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/ebayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3474231278

Unfortunately the winning bidder's account had been hijacked and the thief was trying to get me to overnight the machine to him asap as "his was broken and he needed it right away." I was immediately suspicious, but the winner's feedback was excellent. So this morning I started the process of backing everything up and getting it ready to go. No way in hell I was going to send it out until I saw the money though.

Luckily the true account owner notified me of the problem and has since changed their userid. We have both reported the problem to eBay, but we'll never see a resolution.

Now I have to relist the item, pay an additional fee and hope it sells again! GRRRRRRR!!!!!! I've always had wonderful luck with simple private transactions via email on the internet, but eBay sure can be the "thieves mall".

Anyone wanna buy a really nice laptop? :)

The number of scammers operating on Ebay is reaching biblical proportions. It's ridiculous and Ebay doesn't seem to want to deal with or even acknowledge the problem.

Your experience is sadly becoming commonplace.

I read your ebay description and noticed something a little inaccurate. I can pm with what I saw if you want, or I can post it here. Let me know.

Right now I have 2 motorcycles on , for the second time, that have been listed for 2 days but are not showing up in any search, so they each have 2 views, both are me! I had to cancel these auctions 2 weeks ago for the same prob. EBay will not answer any e-mail message and I'm now out $120! These are no reserve starting at $1.00. Up to yhis point I have had great success selling big items with no reserve at $1.00 start. Very frustrating!!!

Make sure your search terms show in the Title. If you're searching in the subtitle it will never show up.

It show up in no search mode, not even the ultimate "where's my item "page. There is says, "item not found" then goes on to say the auction may be over!

What did you notice? I tried to be as accurate as possible, agreeing with the Sager descriptions for everything. Admittely it's a little hyped :) but that's salesmanship. If there's an error I will correct it right away when it gets relisted.
