Every day or so I look at all the usual places for a 348 to buy. 90% of the cars for sale are red...and a good portion of those are the dreaded red on tan. haha. From there, the remaining 10%, 8% are black and the rest are yellow. (I know of the silver tb for sale, red interior even but I want a ts.)

I want silver damn it. And with a red interior. :) How many silver 348s were brought into the US? Does anyone know? There hasn't been a single silver 348 on the market since my deal fell through in March of last year. Not a single one.

There have been two white ones, one even with a red interior, but it wasn't quite what I was looking for.

What's that about those who wait?

A few years ago I set out on a search for a blk/tan '88 Mondial 3.2 Coupe. Even though I repeatedly mentioned "black" and Coupe" lots of well wishers offered info on red cabriolets instead.

I even tried to buy from existing owners here on FerrariChat, to no avail (they know how awesome the car is).

Finally, after 5 years of intensive searching (offered a $1000 finder's fee as well) a blk/red Coupe shows up on ebay out of Georgia.

After about a year or two of ownership I learned that only 35 Coupes (all colors) were imported in 1988.

Seems like Ferrari called it a few things through out the years, red on 348's bordeaux on 550's...

It's always been called Bordeaux hasn't it?

Going all the way back to the 60's.

The 348 interior is definitely Bordeaux, not red in colour.

Good luck finding a silver one. I wanted a silver 355 GTB manual in the worst way and it was impossible to find. I settled for red. I would probably sell or trade if I found one

I can't answer your question exactly but I have 845 US 348 ts' in my database. Of those, three are silver with red. You could be waiting a while.

I know a guy in San Diego with a silver/red (Bordeaux) 348 ts, I think it is a 91 model. He doesn't drive it much anymore - if you are a serious buyer, I'll ask him if he is considering selling and put you guys in touch as he is not on F-chat.

Currently for sale on copart, there is a silver 355gtb, but it has a tan interior, that's got to be rare , and not in a good way.

Jonathan, do you have the color breakdown posted online somewhere? I'd be very interested to see it.

I don't but what do you want? Here is US 348 ts breakdown (as percentages since I don't know what proportion of cars are in my database):

    348 ts (US only)

    Black - 16.2%
    Blue - 2.1 %
    Green - 0.3%
    Grey - 1.3 %
    Red - 65.6%
    Silver - 1.8%
    White - 6.0%
    Yellow - 6.7%

I'll do the same for 348 tbs in a moment.
