Amazing the NFL can come after him for e-mails he sent when he was NOT
working for the NFL or any team 10-11 years ago.

There is no statute of limitations. I remember when George O'Leary was rejected for the head coaching job at Notre Dame, when he had been considered a shoe-in, because he had lied on a job resume thirty years earlier. To me, that should not have affected his eligibility - we've probably all made mistakes when we were young which should be long forgotten - but the Irish thought otherwise.

Cancel culture is pretty intense. They don't care when someone said something it appears. I forgot about that George O'Leary thing...pretty crazy that 30 years later they could find that without internet/emails lol.

The next issue is, what about all the other e-mails?
We KNOW there is more to this than just Gruden... and the NFL does not care for Dan Snyder.

I find it odd that (these) e-mails are kept for 10-11 years, this isn't a 'business' perse~ that the law forces you
to keep e-mails for X years that involve business dealings, or is it?

This sounds pretty ridiculous to me they singled him for things he said before he worked for the NFL.. .. who care what he said 10 years ago .. you know this is all politics truthfully this is more of a P and R subject I bet...??

I'm not aware of any requirements for businesses to keep email records for a certain period. Even in healthcare which is very strict, I think we only have to keep patient radiology images (the pictures, not the report) for like 5-10 years or something based on the state and if it's Medicare and those are far more important. I'm sure there are way more messed up email and texts the NFL could dig up, but for whatever reason it was him.

The NFL 'had' to do something, it was counteractive to all the 'work' they have
done over the last 10 years to change and promote 'diversity'.
    Or so they (don't) say.

The last two I.T. shops I ran we had to keep all e-mails for 7 years.
Not just insurance claims, billings, accounting, but e-mails also.
Some items we had to keep 15 years.
Even phone calls involving customer service we kept for years.
