I am in the process of getting my 348 insured and tried Grundy. I could not believe they would not insure me unless I insured all my cars with them. I have some other non-plated collector cars and the greedy Grundy crew firmly stated that they would not insure JUST my 348. Whose choice is it what I insure? Grundy seems to think it's their call to tell me I have to insure cars I am not driving or have plated...

Grundy can bite me! Does anybody know of other good collector insurance companies? The 348 is a 1991 so don't think it's old enough for Haggerty?

It is not uncommon for insurance companies to want all of your cars insured with them. My insurance company offers a 10% discount for doing so.

Is that all collector cars or all cars period? I talked to Grundy a few years back about insuring the 348 I never bought along with my bike and Jeep, they said they wouldn't do the other two. Weird.

Sucks they do that. I have Grundy, but only one "collectible", so no problem. The advantage of Grundy is no mileage restriction, ZERO DEDUCTIBLE (even for glass), and agreed value.

5 cars, enclosed trailer, a boat and the house make for a nice group discount. They won't touch my R1 though.....

I had Grundy for one year then dumped them for Chartis a company sponsored by Barrett Jackson Auctions. They have a tab on their web site for this insurance company.
Grundy wanted $970/yr for agreed value of $65,000 for my 355.
Chartis has a better policy, is rated A-A+ by the agencies, does have a 2,500 mile limit but only charges $430/year. Zero decuctible, etc. like the others.

Grundy is a pirate and so is Hagerty IMO.

    My two pennies.

I use Haggerty for the 348 and 928. I pay under $1000 for both. 5000 or less miles on the 348. I believe the Porsche is 7500 a year or less.

I tried my All Sate agent, who also does the other cars and the home owners.
His price for these 2 cars was exactly double what I was paying from Haggerty.
So, he probably just does the same thing we would with Haggerty and get the rate then double it.
when I questioned it, the answer was a mumble (from a well spoken man).

I tried Geico and the rate was much higher, even if I insured all cars with them.

Hagerty quoted me $2400/year for my CS. State farm.... $1K/yr. 0 deductible comp/1K for collision. I think the 348 was $700/yr for the same w/SF

I use Grundy for 3 vintage cars I have and went to them for a quote on my '98 F355. They quoted me more than Geico which I use for my 2005 Porsche 911. With a two car discount and $1,000 deductible, the Geico premium on the 355 is $600/year.

I was denied insurance for my 1997 Ferrari 355 by Hagerty. I currently insure 2 vintage cars through Hagerty and have never had a insurance claim or traffic violation for that matter. Somewhat confused as to why the would deny coverage. The adjusters excuse was they have experienced a heavy loos claim volume with 90s Ferraris. Has any one had a similar experience?

when i called for quotes on a 355 vs 348, they told me the same thing, but with late 90s Ferrari's.
No issues with my '92 348
